Question about GE JTP30DPCC 30" Built In Single Wall Oven in Bisque JTP30DPCC
I'm replacing a control panel for a GE JTP30. I have the instructions unfortunately I'm unable to disconnect 2 white wires from the existing control panel. They have some kind of clear/white covering on the ends and despite tugging on them they won't budge. Is there a trick to removing these types of wires? I've tried squeezing and gentle prying. I don't mind breaking the old panel but I don't want to mess up the wire.
These white wires could be a thermistor which is a type of heat sensor, if you damage it you have no safety cutout or automatic reset.

In order to test the surface burner on your electric range, the following steps should be taken:
An oven thermostat is a switch that opens and closes in response to the temperature
it senses. It is typically found in the control panel, where a
liquid-filled temperature-sensing bulb senses and maintains the internal
oven temperature by cycling heat on and off.
