FocusPro TH5000 will not cool

My system says it's 72 inside. I have the system set to 'Cool' and 68. Only heat comes out, and after 30 mins, the temperature was at 78.

Make sure the thermostat is set to "cool" mode. Make sure the thermostat is wired correctly and has fresh batteries in it. Check both the thermostat end and the air handler end of the wires. If All this checks out, the problem is most likely in the air conditioner, not the thermostat.

That problem is seldom the thermostat.check all fuses and breakers....if they're ok,its prolly an internal problem to the furnace.

SOURCE: I am trying to lower

Hi,
Many t-stats will not let you go within less than 2 degrees of the heat set point....

Lower the heating set point and then you will be able to lower the cooling setpoint..

SOURCE: I had a Honeywell Thermostat

Is this a new hvac system? A new furnace can work differently than your old one. Does it shut off after a minute or two or continue to run? If it continues to run then call that professional back and let him fix it. If it shuts down after a minute or two then it is a feature of the new thermostat to squeeze all of the cool it can from the a/c coil and ductwork. Some of them have settings that you can adjust for blower delay on and off, read the manual that came with the t-stat and see if it does.

SOURCE: My A/C is operating outside

With such limited information the following is the most likely problem.
1. The fan outside is running but the compressor is not.
2. The inside air handler blower fan is not working.
3. The system is froze up and not allowing any cold air to come out of the vents.
Hope this helps

I have a Braeburn 3200 and when the the temperature reaches the desired heat setting. The furnaces heat will shut off, but the fan will continue to run indefinetly. eventually blowing very cold air up

The fan relay is stuck in the on position. When the temperature drops the heater does not ignite because the fan is already running and ignition is locked out after the heat cycle starts an the fan turns on

The temp setting shows 78 degrees, lower to 72 degrees /it stays for 15 sec and returns to 78 degrees no codes

you may not be giving the a/c enough time to cool down to 72 the reason it goes back to 78 is that is the temp in the room at that moment put on 72 and give it about 20-30 min. to see if this helps

I bought a house with a Hunter # 44100A programmable thermostat but have no manual to program it from. How can I program it?

To change the time, press Hour once. Then press and hold Hour to until it reaches the correct one (pay attention to the AM/PM notation). Do the same with the Min and Day buttons. Press Return when done. (The thermostat will leave return to the normal mode after 10 seconds without a button press.)

Now to set the program, set the switch to heat or cool depending on which you want to program first. Press Prog (this will program M-F settings) then press and hold Hour until the time you want Prog 1 to start. Press the Up or Down arrows to get to the temperature you want to reach and stay for this period. Press Prog again and use the Hour/Min/Up/Down keys to set the time and temperature for next period. Repeat for program 3 and 4 for weekdays. Press Prog again to do the same thing for the 4 possible weekend program segments. Any time left at 0:00 results in a program being skipped.

Press Prog to set the Program. These settings will not take effect until the next time change in the program. You can review the settings by pressing Prog and scrolling through the settings.

Change the switch to the other setting and repeat the programming if your system has both AC and heat.

If you want to press the AutoProg button the thermostat will use preset times and temperatures. For Heating that is 5 am 68, 7 am 60, 3 pm 68, 10 pm 62. For cooling it is 5 am 78, 7 am 85, 3 pm 78, 10 pm 82.

For more information, you can get the manual from Hunter: http://www.hunterfan.com/Support/Manuals-and-Parts-Guides/ , just enter the model number in the Search line.

I hope this helps.

I have a Ruud 2 ton split system and the system will not cool. The compressor and fan on the outside unit works and the fan blower on the air handler works too. The temp on the lines coming into the...

The small line coming in from the outside unit should be warm to hot and the larger line should be cool and sweating with water forming on it. I am taking for granted that the unit was working if so it sounds as if the unit is low on freon. your inside coil should be sweating a lot from top to bottom if it is only cool or sweating on the bottom but less to nothing up top you are low on freon. When very low the unit will stop working just like a broken valve in the compressor. If it is just a little low it will not cool properly and at night it might even freeze the inside coil up.

Set System Switch to Cool and lower setpoint below room temperature.
Verify thermostat and system wires are securely attached.
Diagonistic: Set System Switch to Cool and lower the setpoint below the room temperature. Within a few seconds the thermostat should make a soft click sound. This sound usually indicates the thermostat is operating properly. If the thermostat does not click, try the reset operation ( . If the thermostat does not click after being reset contact your heating and cooling service person or place of purchase for a replacement. If the thermostat clicks, contact the AC manufacturer or a service person to verify the cooling system is operating correctly.
Or call the techline 18002842925.
