The door on my Miele dishwasher (model G 843 SCVI PLUS) appears to be broken. The door will flop open with a great deal of weight, unless you hold onto it while opening. Judging by the hinge, the problem appears to be on the spring that is (or was) attached to the right hinge. Also, the door panel appears to be no longer snugly attached.

Hello,
Please read our safety information before attempting any testing or repairs.
Before repairing the door springs, unplug the dishwasher or shut off the power at the fuse box or breaker panel to avoid an electrical shock hazard.
The door opens and closes with the
aid of springs. If the springs (or the cables that connect them
on some dishwashers) break, the door will drop open hard. The
door will also be heavier when closing. If the door drops open,
it may also bend the door hinges out of shape resulting in a door
that does not close properly and possibly leaks.
When replacing the springs or cables,
all of them should be replaced at the same time.
To access the door springs and cables
remove the lower panel located beneath the door. The panel is
usually held in place with two screws either above or below the
panel. It may be necessary to first open the door to the dishwasher
to get to the screws over the panel, then close the door to remove
the panel.
There are two common types of spring
assemblies. One type connects the springs from a hook on the dishwasher
cabinet of to a tang on the door hinge .
SOURCE: dishwasher tils when door is open because the bracket is roken
There is now a universal dishwasher bracket for just this problem called E-Z DISHWASHER BRACKET. It is available through Braxton-Bragg or ask for it at a local granite fabricator. It is very simple to use.
SOURCE: Dishwasher door won't open, latch seems broken
Hello, I read your comment. If the latch is broken, then I suggest first of all disconect the electricity from the dishwasher. You may want to try using a small screwdriver and insert it where the latch is to activate the opening mechanism. If it doesnt open, then there are two options, I suggest to call the technical service to replace the door with a new latch.
Hope I have been of help.

SOURCE: dishwasher door flopped open and
Hello,
Welcome to Fixya.
Based on your description what you`ve likey experienced is a broken door closer/link kit.
It is a fairly minor procedure to replace it/them. Slide the entire unit out from the cabinet a couple or three inches and you`ll see the plastic roller assembly and rope ( except yours is likey broke ) attached to the side.
**You`ll need to insure your connections will allow you to pull the unit out however, otherwise they - water, power, drain hose - must be disconnected to prevent any damage.**
If you have any reservation to performing this repair on your own please call in a qualified appliance technician.
The parts ( # 1059756 @ repairclinic ) come in a kit as I alluded to and will look like what I attached below...
These are available at most brick & mortar appliance part locations or on-line vendors such as "repairclinic.com" "searspartsdirect.com" or "apwagner.com" to name a few.
They range in price for around $20, or you can just purchase the rope/link seperately for about $4 part # 1159210 @ repairclinic.
I recommend replacing the entire kit, and check the spring itself...that is seperate from the kit ( # 830967 door spring @ repairclinic as well )
Hope that helps move you forward. Thank you for visiting "fixya" today.
Please take a moment and rate the solution provided here or a testimonial if you feel warranted.
