If the cards work ok on something else then there's a issue within camera it could be the actual sd connector within the camera ? doess the camera support that size ? Optio E10 supports upto 1GB SD Card http://www.pentaxcanada.ca/pdf/o_manuals/om_OPTIOE10_e.pdf it might not work with the high speed sd cards ? Regards

Most devices on the market today do not support SDHC yet, including those nifty 10-1 or 8-1 or a kajillion-1 PC docks that come preloaded in almost all desktop computers today. Always refer to your manual or manufacturer's website when installing new hardware in a device to make sure it is compatible.

What is max size of sd card?

SD cards top out at 2GB. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work.

I just put a new 4GB SD card into my Pentax Optio S4i camera. When I power it up I get the message "memory card error" Tried another card and got the same error message. Any...

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common cause is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position. The second most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. There are also other common causes if the above didn't help, with troubleshooting steps for this problem listed here.

After i turn on my Optio E10, it shuts off right away even after i put in new batteries.

Sounds like a memory card problem. Try using A 512mb San Disk SD Card. Not a San Disk SDHC card. see if that doesn;t help you out. Good-Luck

Memory card Sandisk 4GB gives error memory card

The S50 uses SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card, and will not work in the S50. You will have to confine your choices to cards 2GB and smaller.

I have a pentax Optio E10 camera and put a 4gb sdhc memory card in but it doesnt respond when I switch it on - does this mean it is not compatible or is there a way of sorting the problem

The manual specifies SD cards up to 1GB. Cards bigger than 2GB are actually SDHC (SD High Capacity) cards and will not work in SD devices. 2GB cards may work; try at your risk.

Inserting either a 4Gb or 8Gb SD card results in a "Memory Card Error".

The S4 accepts SD and MMC cards. SD cards max out at 2Gb. The 4Gb and 8Gb cards are actually SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards, not SD cards, and thus will not work in devices designed for SD cards. Compatibility goes only one way--SD cards will work in SDHC devices but not the other way around.

Pentax Optio MX4 won't read my new SDHC 4gb

Does the camera work with any other card? Was the card formatted in the camera? Some cards from some manufacturers just don't work in some cameras.

The E10 works with SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

In order to use 4gb memory your camera has to be approve for SDHC use.

If it isn't the most memory you can put into your camera is 2 gb
