Top loading Whirlpool Care II SM8280867 No suds added to wash and when I lift the top there is a HUGE amount of suds. Why?

I have the same problem now and again on my front loading LG. I
noticed that it is coming out of a vent on the tub right where you
metioned that is part of the design. Either there is too much
detergent or the drain is restricted. When there are lots of suds
they have to go somewhere. It's either out the drain or out the

I suggest you disconnect the tube from the water level control pressure switch and blow it out well. Then, if need be, disconnect the drain hose and make sure it is clean as well.

do a vinegar flush Pour a quart of distilled vinegar into your washer and using Hot water wash let your machine run through a wash and rinse cycle. The vinegar will cut through suds .. also wipe down the rubber gasket with a 1/2 vinegar /water solution to clean the gasket

go to www.repairclinic.com enter model number and the first part you see may be the culprit. This part is located between the transmission and the motor. To see if it is broken you'll need to tilt it back enough so that you can take out the pump and the motor each individually and if any of the six finger look things are broken replace the part. My in-laws had this problem and now i'm the fav in-law. By the way it's an easy task.

SUDS LOCK (Overdose of Detergent detected during the Wash Cycle)
The motor control unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on
