B) Laptop closed turn it over, lay it down on a soft cloth on a table, Battery Bay Compartment AWAY from you.

C) The Thermal Cover is the largest cover on the bottom of the laptop. Goes from the right side to the middle, and very close to the Top and Bottom.

There are four Philips head screws to remove in the cover, before the cover can be removed.

1) Under the middle of the Battery Bay Compartment, and at the Top/Left corner of that rectangular vertical vent, in the Thermal Cover.

2) At the Bottom/Right corner of that vertical vent, in the Thermal Cover.

3) In-between the two horizontal vents, located at the Bottom of the Thermal Cover.

4) Straight above the screw removed in 3), is the last screw to remove. There is a round shaped vent, inside a square at the top right of the Thermal Cover. The screw to be removed is at this vent's Bottom/Left corner.

Replace slot dvd drive in toshiba p500

1) Remove ALL power.
Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.

2) Lay a static free cloth on the table, or workbench you are working on.
(Protects the table, and the laptop)

Laptop closed turn it over, set it down on the static free cloth, Bottom side up.

3) Locate the HarDDrive Compartment Cover.
(Sony's term is HDD Slot Cover)

Looking at the bottom of the laptop, this is the rectangular cover that sits vertical, at the Bottom/Middle of the laptop.
The DVD optical drive is to the Right.

Remove the two Philips head screws which hold the cover.
Remove the cover.

(It has tabs made out of the plastic cover, which are on the opposite side of the screws. These tabs slide down into the Bottom Cover of the laptop.
When removing the cover use care, and do not break these tabs off)

4) With the harddrive compartment cover removed, look at the Right side. There is a square depression next to the right edge, in the middle.
(The square may be colored Blue)

There is one single Philips head screw to remove.
Then the DVD optical drive tray is opened by pushing it's release button.
The tray is used to gently pull the DVD optical drive out of the laptop.

After you click on the file name (P500) it may take up to 30 seconds, before the first page comes up.

At the top of the PDF file is the page number box. It is to the Right of the Down Arrow. Go to Page 188.

Or use the Bookmarks menu to the left.
Left-click on the + sign next to -

(The Adobe PDF file may be in a different format, when it comes up.
Hover your mouse cursor towards the Bottom/Middle.

Acer Aspire 5602WLMI water in keyboard

Here is a great deal on a replacement keyboard:
To replace it, first of all, remove the power connector and the battery before you do anything on that laptop.

remove the 3 screws in the middle cover. remove that middle cover by putting a screwdriver in one of those holes which are covering the displaybrackets. pull it up slowly. same thing goes for the opposite side.

remove the 2 screws which are holding the keyboard and the cable to the mainboard.
Reassembly is the reverse of dissasembly, be careful with the ribbon cable as its fragile, and there is a little plastic piece that either pulls up or pulls out that releases the cable.
One of the easiest repairs to a laptop there is.

This guide is to provide some help for those who want to disassemble their laptop.
You have to be sure that the problem you face is from the hardware, and that your laptop is not under warranty, since that laptop disassembly void warranty.
Search on the net for service manuals some are free and other cost around 6$ . Not find your model ? download some free service manual from different brands and read them many steps are the same in laptop disassembly. But i do recommended to find the manual that fit your laptop because you may need to know the part number of the defective part to change it.
Now you have to prepare a clean working area with small box for the different parts and their screws, and maybe a pen and a paper to remember particular step.
To disassemble the computer, you need the tools below:
Wrist ground strap and conductive mat for preventing electrostatic discharge
Small Phillips screw driver
Flat head screw driver
Hexagonal driver
NOTE : The screws for the different components vary in size. During the disassembly process, group the screws with the corresponding components to avoid mismatch when putting back the components.
When you remove the stripe cover, please be careful not to scrape the cover.
In most of laptop you can actually access by the base to these bays :
hard disk
Remove them all, to remove the optical disk just release the screw securing the optical disk module, push the ODD module using a screwdriver and remove the ODD module from the main unit.
After that look on the keyboard area to find how to remove the keyboard for example with an Acer aspire 5100, you have to remove the middle cover from the edge of the middle cover and carefully detach the middle cover, then you just have to release the two screws securing the keyboard plate and carefully detach the keyboard plate from the edge of the keyboard plate finish by release the keyboard FFC lock carefully because it is fragile. Then remove the keyboard plate.
After that you can either disassembly the lcd module or try to access the motherboard.
For the LCD module carefully disconnect the LCD cable and any other cable that you can see, release any screws holding the LCD module on the bottom side of the main unit, release any other screws securing the LCD hinges on the main unit, then detach the LCD module from the main unit.
For the motherboard every model are different then you have to explore by yourself, but not forget to read some service manuals before.
You can find some free service manuals at laptop support.
I hope that this will give some help.

Hi,, i just want to know how to replace a keyboard of acer aspire 6920, many thanks.

with the unit upside down, and the battery towards you.
remove all screws behind the battery, under the battery, and the ones to the immediate left and right. make note as they are different lengths and have to be put back in the same place. failing to do so will ruin your middle cover.Slide off the hinge caps, then flip the unit over and open like you are using it.gently lift the keyboard cover up and towards you slightly. then you will be able to lift the keyboard careful to not disconnect the 2 cables on the middle cover.I do not recommend this to anyone as you can break it. However it's your toy, just don't cry if you break it.

Can't figure out how to remove hard drive Sony PCG-F540

The hard drive is under the keyword, in the middle of the laptop. Screw the left side of cover (power button) under the screen, pull it and later remove the keyword.

Removing middle cover

If you are positive that there are not any screws holding it down then look for tiny plastic tabs holding in place. I usually use a very small flat head screw driver and find an area to safely insert the tip between the cover and the rest of the laptop and very gently and slowly separate the two. If you come across an area that just won't move then look for something that is securing it.
PATIENCE is the biggest key. I learned this the hard way on my own laptop, lol!

Good luck, n hope this helps!
