I have a 1080 special, how do I do the Blanket stich? Thank you

Unfortunately, a lot of older Bernina machines did not have a blanket stitch. Am unable to find much info on your machine, but if you have tested all your stitch selections and have not found a blanket stitch, then your machine probably is not capable of doing one.

How do I set the blanket stitch on my machine?

If you have the owner's manual, it should show the blanket stitch among the stitch selections for your machine. FWIW, a lot of vintage machines do not have a blanket stitch available, so don't be disappointed if your machine does not have it.

Hi I'm new to sewing! Does my singer have a blanket stitch

Your machine is a beginner model with only 8 stitches. Looking at the photo of the machine, it does not appear to have a blanket stitch.

Singer 1507 Sewing Machine

Usually, only more advanced (and expensive) machines with more stitches will have the blanket stitch.

How to do blanket stitch

Usually, your machine would need to have a blanket stitch selection in order to perform a blanket stitch. If your machine does not offer that option, then you are probably out of luck unless it is a highly advanced computerized model that you can create your own stitch designs.

What can I use for a blanket stitch on this machine?

A blanket stitch is traditionally done with a large needle and wool to a folded edge of fabric and is often done about 1cm wide, most sewing machines can't swing the needle this wide or take the heavy gauge thread you need for the blanket stitch effect, its a hand done thing.

I have a old Brother's sewing machine. Its an old machine never used due to me not being able to thread and do the bobbin correctly. Well, I went on YouTube recently and learned how to correctly thread and...

Try a new needle(inserted all the way up and flat side facing the rear of machine) and taking a hair dryer to the bobbin area to heat it up. . If, that doesn't work, try cleaning and lubricating the machine as per your manual. I am hoping that the timing is not messed up because that is not a do it yourself job. Sometimes, lack of use causes things not to move so good, like us, LOL. Good luck

Lion Brank Nature's Choice Organic cotton sheds like crazy. What do I do? Made a beautiful baby blanket and afraid to give to the mommy, baby will end up with a mouthful of cotton.

You may want to soak the (finish product) of the blanket in a warm soapy water (bar/bath soap is prefer). Let it stay for about 20 minutes or so. Do not wring or dry it in the machine. Use a fresh towel. Lay the towel on flat surface. Put the wet blanket on top of towel. Roll the towel together with the blanket and add a little pressure to the roll to get the excess water out of the blanket. If still need it take another fresh towel and do it the same way. Then, lay flat to dry. Warm water and soap usually will make the fiber to be less sheds. Good luck!
