Usually when this happens it's a DNS / Virus / Spyware problem.

Try installing a spyware remover, go to a friends house with a thumb drive and download malwarebytes. Also you may want to check your hosts file in this folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc it should only have 2 or 3 addresses in it. A good preventative is using the tips at this website also.

It sounds like you might have proxy settings set up on your browser configuration. Click tools >internet options>Connections tab>LAN settings button on internet explorer. If "Use a proxy server" is checked uncheck it and save settings. Restart internet explorer and try again.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Cannot connect to the internet

open internet explorer, go to tools, internet options, then the connections tab and make sure ' never dial a connection' is ticked, assuming you had a dial up connection before using the router on this pc or if you briefly used it.

All started with wireless router (Belkin)

Actually, is does **t really matter what computer *********** in law has or whether she has a computer or **t. Your wireless connection is **t with her computer, it is with the router.

I take it for granted that the router has got a wireless facility , since you said you set it up. Your computer must then also be wireless enabled (internal or Using an USB Dongle).

Set the connection type on the router and your computer as such that there is ** authorization or encryption involved - once you got that working please the ensure that you activate authorization and encryption for security reasons
