Not familiar with that make and model, but we often find that batteries just plain get stuck due to gunk on the battery pan. If you do not see a strap or hold down or anything, try wiggling them to see if that frees them up.

SOURCE: shoprider deluxe te-889af loses power when reversing

I think that this is usual to have a slower reverse speed for safety. But on your shoprider you should have 4mph and 8mph ,usually if you are at 8mph it won`t reverse at that speed, you have to go to 4mph ,look infront of you there is a dial this controls the speed that you go forward and reverse. If reverse speed needs to be increased turn the dial up,but don`t forget this also increases forwards.

I installed new batteries and scooter still doesn't run, why?

Check the wiring from the controller to the motor, disconnect the wire ad clean the connections with a contact cleaner or WD40 , and make sure the scooter not in freewheel mode.

How do you test the batteries and how do you remove the batteries for the Shoprider Scootie?

Bill With a voltmeter you can check the voltage of the batteries through the charger port on the battery pack. Set the voltmeter to 200 volts dc and plug the leads into the two outter holes of the charger port. You will be reading the voltage of the batteries and after a full charge they should read 25-27 volts. The batteries are in the case under the seat. remove the case from the scooter and turn it over there are numerous screws to unscrew to seperate the case and get access to the batteries. Remove the cables from the batteries and also the heat sensors from the batteries. Make sure you reattach the heat sensors to the batteries when you relace them with new batteries. Now you won't be able to do a load test on the batteries in the case but you can get them checked once you remove them from the case. It has been my experience that these smaller batteries do good if they last you a year. If less than that you might have a weak battery and you will need to replace both batteries with new ones. Hope this helps you

My shoprider scootie does not show whats left on the battery and the horn does not work. Any suggestions what the problem may be? Thank you

hi, ok, but does the scooter work besides the horn and battery indicator not working ?

If the scooter works okay then the problem is within the tiller control panel , that is the panel on the handlebars, Now it could be a loose wire so carefully take it apart and check to see whether there are any loose wires.

It appears to be out of power but suddenly the power reappears I

ok, that could be one of three things,

A bad connection with the battery so lift the battery and check contacts,

Check wiring to the speed pot, you will have to remove the top unit that house the speed pot etc (Wign wam)

A faultly speed pot is the other cause, to confirm trying moving the pot up and down, is there a lot of play , try moving the lever slowly, if it jerks about, it needs replacing.

Forward/reverse pot is flaky, where can I buy one?

You will need the make, model and the serial number off your scooter. The serial number should be on the frame down under the shroud cover under the seat. Call the manufacturer with this info, and they will either issue you a part, or usually, refer you to an authorized repair facility for replacement of the part. Replacement is pretty straightforward once you have the tiller shroud opened up. Good luck.
