Question about Tomtom ONE 3rd Edition GPS

1 Answer

No signal I've tried using my TomTom One (3rd edition) GPS 3 times in the past month and I keep getting 0 satellites, where I've always received a signal in the past. I got it for Christmas, and it had been working up until now.

Ok it has 12 mionths guarantee, But it is possible that you have fried the SIIRF chip by starting thee car with the DC plug in the socket, many cars cause spikes to the chip so we recommend not putting it ointo the socket until the engine is running TOTOM wont tell you because they makje more money out of repairs than sales.

expensive to repair, and thius may not fit a warranty claim by TOMTOMN they dont cover misuse, they will say you have caused this spike by not plugging or chqarging it correctly. Good luck

Why tomtom always say to me that my device is not connect

When the GPS device is not able to receive (more than 3 or 4) satellite signals, it will continue to search. This may take a while ... or if you're indoors or under cover of some (solid) obstructions, it may not happen. So, make sure you have clear views of the skies when you are trying to get satellite signals.
Consider regularly updating the GPSQuickFix file (by connecting your GPS using TomTom HOME) to download the positions of the satellites (over the next 7 days). It may help.

Tom Tom 540 can't find satellite signal for past hour

The problem can be fixed by resetting the tomtom one xl gps receiver. Tomtom one xl gps receiver is common with this problem, after resetting it, it is most likely it will happen again. So be ready to keep resetting over time.
It most like is as a result of bad strength to search and detect the satellite. So you have to adjust the antenna also to a area where it can pick signals easily. This is quite uneasy because the areas to locate the satellite varies in terms of the location you are.
Software update will not fix this problem as well as the quickgpsfix, so the bes solution is for you to keep resetting it. Hope this helped. Thank you for using fixya.

The problem may be caused by a lose of satellite coverage. This is a bug that is caused when the GPS can not access satellite for a long period of time. To avoid this you will need to keep the GPS up-to-date by connecting to your computer and download updates using TomTom Home

check the port is set to 8
not sure if your model has GPS search wher it finds the port and vbaude automativcally, if it does use it and see if that fixes it if not
your battery is too low
you have a damaged SIIRF chip and that is expensive to repair
