Question about InVion GPS-7v1 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

Displays 'Waiting for GPS signal' forever.

I have an OmniTech gps. It comes on, but after selecting your destination it displays 'Waiting for GPS signal' forever. It never gets the signal. The GPS doesn't freeze, as you can go back and do other things. But, it never gets the signal and so can not show you the direction to follow. I have been using the gps for about 5 months now and this one just happened. Any solutions?
Thank you

It all started June 13th some type of bug with the software. Omnitech has posted a fix for the 16878. Here is the link describing the problem and the fix.

Same here. I just finished updating software and it still can't get a signal. Could it be something with the TOM TOM satellite network?

I have the same unit and version as you. I notice the problem started yesterday at about 5:00 EST

My tomtom cant find any satellites and keeps saying waiting on valid gps signal......

check the port is set to 8
not sure if your model has GPS search wher it finds the port and vbaude automativcally, if it does use it and see if that fixes it if not
your battery is too low
you have a damaged SIIRF chip and that is expensive to repair
