Unlock password

is it the BIOS password or windows password?

windows passwords are relatively easy to reset. Search internet for the "Hirens boot cd" (near bottom of page). It's a Boot CD image full of various utilities including a password reset utility ( its in the boot cd menu).

If yo ucan get ur hands on a MSDIAG boot cd, your life will become even easier, this boot cd comes with a password reset tool once booted. make sure you have the proper MSDIAG for 64 or 32 bit windows, and according to the installed OS (ie: Vista, Win7)

Could you tell me what has to be done when the only item appearing on the screen is MC70?

Resetting the EDA

There are two reset functions, warm boot and cold boot. A warm boot restarts the EDA by closing all running
programs. A cold boot also restarts the EDA, and also resets the clock. Data saved in flash memory or a memory card is not lost.
Perform a warm boot first. If the EDA still does not respond, perform a cold boot.

Performing a Warm Boot - Soft reset

Hold down the Power button for approximately five seconds. As soon as the EDA starts to boot release the Power button.

Performing a Cold Boot - Hard reset

To perform a cold boot simultaneously press the Power button and the 1 and 9 keys.

Reset bios

There's no need to reset your BIOS, only you do is to set in your BIOS Setup to boot priority like for example First Boot Priority is your CD/DVD Rom Drive, if you got some Bootable System Disc then the Second Boot Priority is your Hard Disk Drive. Good luck!
