Iron cord twisted and my husband says dangerous. Can this be fixed as iron is otherwise OK?

Hi,
If there are bare As in the copper is showing wires then it IS dangerous. If it is just the wires twisted then just straighten it out the best possible and you will be okay.If the wires are frayed to the point of the copper showing then you need to have the cord replaced. However, unless this is a fancy iron you will be better off throwing it out and then buying a new one rather then paying the bucks you will need to to have the cord replaced...
