Service call error 00010040

Common Error Codes
00000101 The CR Motor reached it's end of life. 00010000 PF Encoder Check Error. 00010005 CR Motor is out of step. 00010014 Pressurising failure. 00010027 Pressure pump micro air-leak error. 00010040 Printing position error. 0001002D The cleaning unit reached it's end of life. 0001003F The Pressure Motor reached it's end of life.

Servicing Levels

Three levels of servicing are available and detailed below:
  1. Basic 0040 or 0001002D maintenance procedure: This will return your printer from either the 0040 or 0001002D error to a working state by replacing only the relevant maintenance items.
  2. Advanced 0040 / 0001002D maintenance procedure: As well as replacing the parts relating to the maintenance error additional adjustments such as bidirectional/unidirectional alignment, 980mm feed adjustment, firmware updating and a general clean will be performed.
  3. Overhaul: All maintenance items as well as the PF, CR motor and belt, cutter cap, pressure assembly and cutter solenoid will be replaced. A check for any design defects such as a defective cutter cap and a defective pressure lever will be performed and any parts will be replaced if necessary. All head and feed alignments will be performed as well as any required software updates and sensor verifications. A thorough clean will also be performed on the carriage area and the print head. When the procedures are complete a survey will be performed to better understand your requirements and any recommendations will be brought forward.
info.gifIt is recommended that if you have recently come into ownership of a second user Epson Stylus Pro 9800 then you should assume that the counter values or service life levels are incorrect and choose the most thorough procedure detailed above. The reason for this is an increasing number of printers being "reset" without the actual parts being replaced or inexperienced owners trying to repair or replace parts incorrectly. In one such case a part was removed and replaced incorrectly causing a serious ink leak which was luckily caught early due to the undertaking of an thorough maintenance procedure, but unfortunately extensive damage had already been caused to the chassis and maintenance tank area.

I copied the error code and put it in the search bar in a web browser and came up with the answer. In the future just google the codes and see what comes up. Also you can download a Field Repair Guide PDF and a Manual PDF from Epson's website too.

My 1985 goldwing runs very rough with a load at 1800 to 2250 rpm. once I get it past 2600 rpm it seems to run fine. I have to reb it up at stops to get it not to miss and have the power to get me started....

Sounds like a restriction in the slow jets of your carburetors or improperly adjusted mixture screws. You might try a fuel additive like SeaFoam or Gumout. I prefer Yamaha Ring Free, available at Yamaha dealers. It is basically a concentrated version of Chevron's Techron Additive. The label lists two different concentrations you can use, basically cleaning or maintenance. Use the high concentration for a tank of gas, and be sure to change your oil afterward as the directions state.
If this does not clear out the problem, you will likely need to remove the carburetors to clean them.

Check up 6 weeks after purchase. why?

change oil / check valve lash and adjust as needed / check compression / check air filter / adjust tire pressure / basic maintenance inspection just to make sure everything is breaking in properly. Have a good day.

Hi Murbilpov,

thank you for using fixya, you have a very fine piece of jewelry. it appears that your watch needs cleaning right on the knob and adjust mechanism. as per a service document from longines, a possible build-up or a broken first gear may cause this issue.

you may refer to their official statement when it comes to cleaning and having the watch repaired.

1) Where should I send a Longines watch that needs to be repaired, adjusted or serviced?If your Longines watch needs to be repaired, adjusted or serviced, werecommend that you bring or send it (well padded and by registereddelivery in the latter case) to your nearest Longines authorizedservice centre. You will find its address in your guarantee booklet oron our website in the Customer Service section.
2) Is the repair of a Longines watch that is more than 20 years old still possible?Yes, we still repair vintage watches at our head workshop in St-Imier.
However, without having the watch to hand, it is impossible for us tojudge its state and to know if all the necessary spare parts for therepair are still available.
Therefore, we kindly suggest that you send your watch via the nearest Longines authorized servicecentre to the Longines head office in Switzerland. Upon receipt andafter analysis of your watch, we will send you our comments and a priceestimate for the repair of your watch.
3) How often do you recommend having a maintenance service carried out on a Longines watch?We would like to draw your attention to the fact that a watch used daily is running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week non-stop.
The frequency of the maintenance service depends on the type of watch, the climate and the care taken by the watch wearer.
In general, it is necessary to have your watch controlled andserviced at least once every 4 - 5 years, just like any other precisemechanical device. This guarantees the reliability and rate precisionof your watch.
4) Which operations are included in a complete maintenance service?The following operations should be included in the price of a complete maintenance service:
– complete dismantling of the movement, cleaning, oiling, reassembling, regulating and the checking of functions;
– repair or replacement of movement components that are either worn or faulty;
–replacement of the following parts: glass, crown, push-pieces, sealsand battery if a quartz calibre (parts included in the price of theservice, with the exception of shaped mineral glasses and sapphirecrystals);
– restoration of the water-resistance (if a water-resistant model);
– refurbishing of the case or bracelet (two-tone, gold-plated and PVD-coated cases and bracelets, cleaning only);
The above service standards are only valid for the Longines head office in Switzerland.
5) Which operations are included in a partial maintenance service?The following operations should be included in the price of a partial maintenance service:
– during each partial basic repair, Longines undertakes to check theregulation of the movement and replace the glass (if necessary), thepipe, the crown, the push-pieces, the seals and the battery in the caseof a quartz movement (these parts are included in the price, with theexception of shaped mineral glasses, sapphire crystals, and restorationservices carried out on the dial, case and bracelet. Parts made out ofnoble metals will be invoiced separately);
– restoration of the water-resistance (if a water-resistant model) and cleaning of the case and bracelet;
Any repair that necessitates the replacement of a part, or any servicementioned in point 7 automatically involves a partial basic service.
The above service standards are only valid for the Longines head office in Switzerland.

Hope this helps, should you have other questions, please do not hesitate to let me know.

regards,

voodoo
