SOURCE: RCI-2980 NO MODULATION

Microphones are the most handled object with a CB radio and this is where it is most likely to find the problems. Basically a Galaxy radio in a base station box, and 3 out of ten develop problems, mostly power supply problems.
I would suspect the mic first. Best way is to use a different mic and see if the problem goes away. Next try the radio on an external DC supply or battery. Let me know what happens from there..... poikaa@yahoo.com

2006 lincoln navigator instrument cluster not working

The thing to would be to hook up a factory or up scale scan tool to see if it will communicate . Your probably unfamiliar with control module communication on automobiles ! There is a microprocessor inside the instrument cluster ! Your best bet is to take to a qualified repair shop ,there is nothing you can do . If it needs to be replaced (which is highly likely ) info in the cluster needs to be down loaded to the scan tool ,then loaded into new one .The it needs to be programmed .
When installing a new instrument cluster, it is necessary to upload the module configuration to the diagnostic tool. Following installation of the instrument cluster, download the module configuration from the diagnostic tool into the new instrument cluster. For additional information, refer to Section 418-01 . The following items are configurable:
The Expedition and Navigator instrument clusters are configurable, hybrid electronic clusters (HEC) that contain a microprocessor, gauges, indicator lamps, and internal circuitry. The instrument cluster is non-repairable with the exception of the warning indicator bulbs and the instrument cluster lens. The instrument cluster uses hardwired circuitry, and the controller area network (CAN) to transmit and receive data from the vehicles other modules. For additional information regarding the communication networks, refer to Section 418-00 .
It is very important to understand:
  • where the input originates.
  • all the information necessary in order for a feature to operate.
  • which module(s) receive(s) the input or command message.
  • does the module which received the input control the output of the feature, or does it output a message over the communication network to another module.
  • which module controls the output of the feature.

Transmits and receives no modulation out

I am not an expert but I think there can be little or no modulation of the carrier wave unless there is an audio input to the modulator. Like any audio amplifier a transmitter modulator (amplitude modulation) is quiescent without an input.

If the modulation amplifier and audio pre-amp are working and modulating the carrier wave and the antenna is ok then audio modulated radio frequency must be being transmitted.

It would be an extremely good quality CB that had a modulation meter. Mostly all they have is a meter giving an indication of the rf power being sent to the antenna and that rf (radio frequency) power would be the same whether modulated or unmodulated.
The modulation envelope, incidentally, is traditionally viewed or measured with an oscilloscope.

The indicated rf power could be verified using a field strength meter but the only practical way to discover if a standard CB is transmitting modulated rf is to listen to the transmission on a suitable receiver. If the squelch is turned down it will be obvious if the rf carrier wave is being received as the hiss would be silenced. If no audio is received it can be assumed none is being transmitted.

I suggest you try another microphone and lead and if that doesn't work it is clearly a job for a repair shop.

How do i put my pioneer receiver to my cable tv,dvd. vsx-917-v-k

For this purpose I am using headphone output of the TV set. I connect the headphone output to the AUXiliary input of the receiver. All you need is an interconnection cable, one end with 3,5 mm stereo male earphone jack, the other end with a pair of RCA jacks. This output of TV provides an additional output signal to your receiver but volume control behaviour (independent volume control for earphone output etc.) changes for different brands of TV sets.

Plug them into the headphone jack of your device and play some music or make a call from your device and see (or rather hear) what happens next.

The s-meter goes down scale when I am modulating. What causes this? THIS IS ON A RCI 2980 RADIO

the reason i saked is that if you turn the power all the way up it tends to reverse modulate. this happens because the power is using all the transmit voltage for the final and the modulation circuit is trying to use as much as it can so the radio is most likly out of alignment and needs to be realigned. its not that hard if you have the service manual and the correct equipment. i have a factory authorized shop and we do alot of realignments due to the cb shops tweaking the 10 meter radios.

Analog output from digital input for Denon AVR 3803

On the Denon AVR-888 (and I presume others), you have to put the unit in "record" mode. This is covered under "Other Operations and Functions" in the manual. Here are the steps:
1. On the front of the unit, press the zone2/rec select button
2. Turn source select until "recout source" is displayed
3. Turn source select to choose the input source

Hope this helps.

Optronica amp one channel out.

disconnect any input cable and test-----------if you still have a problem connect your right speakers cables(which supposed to be good)instead of left speakers cable and test------ if the problem solved you will have a problem in left side(cables or speaker)-------if not solved you will have a problem in your amp it self. and needs hardware repair.
