How do I adjust the amount of oil that goes on the blade. It seems to dump a lot of oil on the blade and blade guide. Goes everyplace

Lots of oil being dispensed. From oil reservoir. Does the saw have an adjustment flow screw for the release of oil

Sorry but this model is not equipped with an oil flow adjustment screw.

The clutch cover area must be saturated with lubricant to properly lubricate the bar and chain and
to ensure the long-term durability of your chain saw.

One thing you could try is to purchase a slightly thicker oil. I got some once at a auto part store and it had anti-sling ingredients.

My sons1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee had the gauges light on and would not start like battery was dead. Had it jump started and it started. When he put in park it stalled jumped again and worked.

Sounds like a charging system problem and the alternator may not be working. The gauge light will come on if the charging gauge is showing low so you will look at the gauges. Have the battery and charging system tested

What does base circle area mean when doing a valve job ?

Base circle is the camshaft lower diameter where the lifter rides before the lobe starts to come into play.
The Lost Art of Valve Adjustment
Your second question depends entirely on the engine in question.
On a pushrod V8 the oil usually is metered by the valve lifters and goes to the rockers through hollow pushrods; a few drops of oil are released by the lifters during each valve stroke. Until full oil pressure and warm oil are in all of the oil passages, the oil to the rockers will be less than that of a warm running engine. The rockers really don't need huge quantities of oil, it is a lot harder to get oil to the valve stems.

You may want to make sure you have good oil pressure and the valves are properly adjusted [even on a hydraulic lifter system there are limits to how much the lifters will self adjust].

If you have an overhead cam engine, you will need lots of oil on the lifters and cams.

How to change mower blades

I have seen lots of lawn tractors and never had a left hand thread. I have put a piece of two by four against the blade or vice grips as well.and put a pipe on my wrench and forced it to loosen. Oil the threads before reinstalling as well. Don't over tighten.

Why does my pergeot use a lot of oil?

What kind of oil? Bar oil? Or two stroke oil? If it's bar oil you may be able to reduce the amount by adjusting the set screw for it in a little. Be aware that if you do this your chain will have less oil between it and your blade that could cause either one to wear prematurely

Mt 18 inch horizontal band saw is not cutting square

Thicker metal shows greater blade / saw adjustment errors. A simple 1/64 or 1/32 wont show much on an 1/8 thick piece of metal when cut.
Those numbers will double quickly as the cutting blade travels through thick metal.
Metal band saws seem to be trickier to adjust and fine tune because the blade seems to be twisted into the roller guides.
The downloaded manual for the saw that looked most like mine at grizzly.com helped my adjustments a lot.
The saw quality is also a factor.

Sounds like your transmission is on the way out. Google "transmission problem 2004 Odyssey" and you will know the deal on your transmission. Lots of early 2000 model honda V6 transmissions had lots of problems.

I have a 2003 VW Beetle - love the car except I have to monitor the oil every month - it goes low - no leakes per mechanic both dealership and private. Was told by VW mechanic that Beetles use lots of oil....

Sounds like an isolated problem. While it's true that VW Beetles use a lot of oil, it sounds like you are loosing an abnormally high amount if your having to add oil every month. If it's not leaking out it has to be burning out through the engine. A good indicator of loosing too much oil through the engine is a white smoke coming from your exhaust.

Also, be certain your using the SAE 5W-30 oil that's recommended by VW.
