Question about Sharp EL-506WBBK Calculator

I don't have a 2nd key so how do I get it out of PENTA mode

Ad

The key is marked **[Shift]** on Casios, **[2nd]** on TI's, and **[2nd F]** on Sharps. I have seen some cheap calculators that mark the key as **[Inv]**. HP calculators are rather different in that respect.

That is what you will get if your calculator is configured for the Line IO mode. If you want fractions to appear as in a textbook, you should configure your calculator's Input/Output mode to be MathIO. **To do so press [SHIFT][MODE] to enter (SetUp) and select [1:MathIO]**

You have a way to enter the Variables A, B,C,D, Y and X.

Use the ALPHA key

For A use ALPHA change sign key (-), below the Fraction Template.

For B use ALPHA (degree ' ")

For C use ALPHA (HYP)

For D use ALPHA (SIN)

For X use ALPHA right )

For Y use , ALPHA (S-D) key

For =, use ALPHA and the key below the SHIFT key. May be marked CALC. The = is in the same color as the ALPHA on calculator. It should be to the upper right side of a key.

(I have an FX-991ES that is compatible with the FX-300ES, but since I do not have a picture of the FX-300ES calculator I cannot be more specific than I have been, lest I mislead you.)

I had the same problem. To change the output to decimals, do the following:

Go to Math mode, then SHIFT, MODE (set-up), 2 (lineIO). This will cause answers to show in decimal format. I hope this helps.

I was able to find a manual at: http://www.generalmanual.com/Calculators/Casio-FX-300ES-Scientific-Financial-Calculator.htm
