Sharp microwave...I can't find or identify the part I need
I have a Sharp microwave, model # R-1461...what I need is a small plastic tan colored piece that sleeves over the motor shaft and connects with the bottom of the glass tray and causes it to turn as the motor rotates.
The problem is that I don't know what to call this part, or the part number, or where to get it.
I've already tried the ''Parts Store'' on line to no avail.

If the door will not stay closed it is the spring inside door, or the small plastic piece that holds the spring which is attached to the $80.00 piece called outer door.
To fix it, it is EASY and you do not have to even take the inside cover all the way off. Just remove the three sides of cover by gently slipping a plastic putty knife around rim to release the clips. Then attach the spring to the small hole below where the plastic piece used to be, which is located in the metal on the glass frame piece, use tweezers, hold the other end of spring as you place spring onto plastic door latch and set into place!
Snap the inside cover back on and YAY! FINI!
u can try www.partstore.com

i just grabbed one out of the dump for my personal un it and it works fine
You need to remove the hood (the grille cover above the microwave door and above the control panel) by lifting up on the bottom of the hood (the plastic should flex pretty easily) and popping it off. On the far left and right you should see two phillips screws, most likely bronze colored. You need to remove them (they are quite long) completely. The microwave will still be sitting on its support arms (which enter the chasis of the microwave from the rear). Once the screws are removed you need to lift the microwave up and pull forward - it should come off of the supports, but you might have to jiggle it a bit.
Don't forget to unplug the microwave and disconnect any ducting before lifting it off of its supports.
This may not solve your problem, but on my Sharp R315J microwave, the little plastic pin that pushes forward on the inside of the start button, had broken off and it wouldn't start. The Minute Plus button would start the microwave, so I knew the microwave worked, so I tried to find a piece of plastic that I could glue into the start button hole, because the part doesn't exist and you have to buy the whole door for $100 plus shipping. Nothing I could find was small enough, so I started looking for a new microwave.
While ouside doing lawn work I noticed a small bird tail feather and the end looked to be the perfect size. I snipped off the pointed end and then up about 3/8" to make a little rod to replace the plastic one that broke. It fit perfectly!!! I didn't even have to glue the inside end, it stays put even after repeated door opens. This is sturdy material and looks to last a long time. When it wears out, I have a cat, there's always a few feathers around. I hope this saves someone else a hundred bucks, like it did me.
The door does come apart. Open the door and where the hinges are, there are openings where the hinges enter the door, this plastic piece (goes all the way around the door) With a small flat blade screws driver VERY carefully pry it (plastic) off, once off, check the latch end for the spring, typical failure for a Sharp is the little tab that the spring hooks to on the door, the only way to repair this so it will last is to replace the door frame. they are not too expensive, about $50 or so Part# FCOVB166KIT is the door frame assy
