SOURCE: my Weller PSI100K Portasol soldering gun will not

It is supposed to produce heat there, it's the place where catalytic combustion takes place. If the tip doesn't heat up enough, it means that either the tip is not screwed properly into the housing, or there's not enough gas pressure. The catalytic mesh should be orange in color when heated properly.
Too low gas pressure may be a result of many things, like a malfunctioning valve (regulator and/or on/off),or clogging of the ceramic pressure reductor due to poor quality gas used, with high heavy fraction content.

SOURCE: Weller PSI-100K doesn't ignite. I

I have the same soldering iron and have found for this problem, the replaceable tip has worn out.
All you need to do is buy a replaceable tip of your choice. The tips are a consumable part that wears out.

Torch doesn't have correct flame

Without knowing the specific torch tip you're working with and what you're welding/soldering the only thing any one can suggest is cleaning the tip. You can get welding tip cleaning files any where that sells welding supplies.

Hi:
If your flame goes out check the following:a) check your acetylene and oxygen pressure, for this kind of job acetylene should be at 4 psi and oxygen at 10.b) Check you're using the right type of nozzle for the job and this nozzle is clean.

I'm unable to get blue flame on orca torch, it makes a crackling noise when I light it and has yellowish gunk in the tip, Can you help?

Is this torch powered by acetylen and if so then the yellow gunk you are seeing is unstable acetyleen which is caused by a torch that is releasing the gas faster then it can be handled in normal atmospher whic would be why you can not get a blue flame, I would say that the tip is to large for the tanks you have the system attached to. I would ask your dealer to suggest the tip size that the torch set you are using would be compatiable with the tank size you have attached. I would not try to use the set until I get it sorted out as unstable acetyleen is very explosive. Hope This Helps Don

Torch is used for jewelry work and is a acetylene air torch. the torch keeps going out when lite. also would like to know how to adjust the air flow on the tips and what it should be. thanks

Usually, the blow-out problem is caused by excessive fuel flow at first--too much pressure or valve is opened too far. Once you have a bushy acetylene flame, turn up the air source to bring the flame down to a fuzzy point near the tip end. Brazing and silver soldering work better with just a little less air. My experience is with an oxy-acetylene torch, but results are similar.
