You would need to buy an soldering iron + solder. Do some practical on old electronic circuity before to perform the fix. Pay special attention to the Positive (+) and Negative (-) wires. Also apply just the necessary solder and be quick (but precise) since the battery case contains plastic and the battery is sensible to high temperatures.

A button cell looks exactly opposite of a regular battery. The small button end is negative.

Can be several things: Loose terminal connections to solenoid, corroded terminals or wires, bad solenoid with burned coil or pitted contacts. Lastly, a too worn out key switch. To find out, test proper (12VDC) voltage at solenoid coil terminal, check for a bad ground too. Then test wiring between key switch and starter. Some power feeds are fed from fusible link harness behind battery box. For the age of the car, there could be some corrosion on terminals or even corroded and broken fusible wires because of nearness of battery acid vapors tend to eat near wiring slowly. My two cents. I left the batteries in it, and one of the batteries corroded. how can i take it apart to clean it

One old trick was to use some baking soda on terminals. It will turn terminal black, but you can still use it if terminal is not broken off. If you have soldered in batteries clean an scrape terminal an resolder.

Ihave a 2002 grand am and the cruise will work sometimes and then at other times it wont, also my turn signals wont work sometimes but do work other times! any suggestions? ty Tommy

Loose ground and or a corroded fuse. Check all the fuses related to engine management and if your battery terminals are corroded remove your terminal connectors and wire brush them clean.

Remove all accessible ground connections, wire brush them and apply die-electric grease then reconnect the connection.

My vehicle will not start. the engine makes no sound, so what may be the problem and how do i fix it.

if you have coroded battery terminals clean them with water and baking soda and a wire brush then reconnect them and seal them with vasoline then jump start the car also if your terminals are corroded most likely the battery is shot and the alternator will burn up trying to charge a weak battery so replace the battery if bad or you will be replacing the alternator soon as well

Positive terminal keeps getting corroded even after 3 weeks.

Try keeping the terminal far away from any moisture and dirt. In fact isolating it may not be a bad idea. Try getting a battery box for it or sealing off the existing one, just make sure to use a drain tube and vent. Some stores have battery terminal isolators, these are less effective but can help. There is also a battery terminal sealant spray that may be helpful if you cannot get/use a battery box. Clean the terminals thoroughly, spray the terminal sealant, and use the battery box for a three way attack. This is especially use full in harsh climates. These methods can also be used on remote battery terminals that are on some cars.

From your query, I guess the problem lies on the battery terminals or wires connected to the battery terminals. Did the old batteries leaked? If it did, the battery leak must have reached the wires inside your computer and corroded the connections. If you are a DIY person, you may open the bottom of your computer by taking out the phillips screws, around 10 (not so sure). Locate the wires connected to the battery terminals. Reconnect the broken connections (better to solder them if you can). Hope I helped you with your problem. Good day...

Battery issue.....

look closely if there are wires hanging near the positive terminal of the battery.

you could have miss reconnecting one wire that is connected to your starter or the main cable itself is corroded and is not making a contact. that main cable is the one hooked to the starter.

tnx 4 using fixya,
