How do I line up the marks for the cam pulley for the Mazda Rustler 1.6 carb to set the correct timming

that little arrow that is cast into the back plate at 12 oclock behind the cam gear should be lined up with a mark between the teeth when the piston is at TDC the crank shaft mark is in line with the keyway in the shaft and will line up with a make ( pointer )in the case behind the bottom gear
to make it easy there should be a small notch in the slinger behind the gear
it is an intereference engine so make sure that the tappet adjustments are let right of so that when turning the cam or crank , the valves will not move and bend on the pistons
the length of the tension spring should be 2.52 " overall length and if not --replace the spring
replace the tension pulley as well
on the long side of the belt opposite the tension pulley apply a load of 22 lbs ( spring balance pulling on the belt) and a deflection of .44-.51" will indicate the correct tension on the belt

Install ram in toshiba pa3171u-1mpc

Hi Kappaman,
This is an easy upgrade to make, check the bottom panel of your machine, you should have some removeable acess panels, usualy held by a number of small crosshead screws, once these screws have been loosened you should be able to remove the panel. The Ram modules are roughly 2 inchs long and slot into slots on the mainboard there will be small clips that hold the ram in place, push these away from the edges of the ram modules and the ram will flip up. this allows for removal. Look for identifying marks to buy replacements/upgrades. Simply push the new items into the slots at an angle (like the previous ram after pulling the clips) and push down to a flat position. You should hear the spring clips click into place. Hope this helps.

Cam timming on 2.2 l camry

The only marks you need to be concerned with are on the rear of the cam gears, there are two large dimples, these are the assembly marks, not the timing marks, line them up and then rotate the camshafts to the top dead center position, there should be two small dots that line up with the single dot in between.
The reason for the assembly marks is that the one of the cams has a spring loaded gear, you can identify it because it has a two piece gear, before you remove the cam you have to install a short bolt into one of the holes in the gear so that it won't unwind, the reason you need to use the assembly marks is that the service bolt is not accessible with the cams at top dead center so you assemble it with the marks so that you can then remove the bolt and then rotate the cams to the #1 firing position.

The rubber drive belt on my new Akai ATT021A USB Turntable has come off both spindles, and dissappeared under the platter. Can anyone recommend how it can be refitted. PaulR

Remove mat from platter. Using a small screwdriver remove the cir-clip holding the platter on, careful here mind your eyes it may spring away. Carefully lift the platter of, not too much force, you will see the belt laying underneath. Take the belt and put it around the underside of the platter, you will see where it goes, just on the large inside edge. Put the platter back on but not the cir-clip yet. Move the platter around until you can see the motor spindle. Using a small screwdriver and your finger put the belt onto the motor spindle. Make sure it is not twisted. Test the player if the turntable spins OK replace the cir-clip, this can be tricky but get it located first then lift the back up to clear the spindle bearing. There you go.

Putting belt on top load amana washer moder #unknown

There is a large pulley directly under the washer drum that runs the transmission. There is a small one connected to the motor shaft, and a third which is attached to a spring-arm and acts as a tensioner.

Pay attention to the direction the tensioner moves. The back of the belt should go against the inside of the tensioner when it is released.

The easiest way I've found to get the belt back on is to thread it around the small pulley, and tensioner, then start it on one side of the large pulley, and rotate the large pulley to allow the belt to thread onto it.

Hope this helps.
