Try another wall outlet for power. Make sure it is not plugged into a ups/power bar etc.. but directly into the wall. A ups can limit the amount of power reaching the fuser and cause it to fail at warming up. Also try putting your hand near the fuser to see if it is giving off heat (don't touch it though, you can burn yourself)

Try this, inside the printer, normally when you open the case/ink port, you see all the paper feeding gears and rollers. You really don't have to be a tech for this, just make sure there are not any flakes/small pieces of paper inside. This is when its good to have a can of compressed air, available at many electronic stores, and "blow" out the dust/paper. This helped with my printer. Also, make sure all the paper feed areas are lined up and working. Watch how far the paper feeds into the printer, then look what is at that point in the printer. Best Wishes, CD

HP 3015 pulls in multiple pages instead of one at a time. I replaced the Scanner Pickup Roller Assembly and it still does it. Do you think it is the scanner separation pad?

Dear ejc, I think this a very simple problem for which you had done a difficult work. If you don't hesitate a simple advice, than warm a bunch of paper with a 100wt bulb or room heater. Use the warm paper in your printer and I hope it can solve your problem. Because it is a simple problem always shown with laser printer and the problem is moisture. by warming, the moisture will evaporated and paper will work smmothly. thanks.

I don't know what printer you have, but this applies to all printers. The first paragraph is just for inkjets. The the whole is related to laser printers.

85% of paper jams are caused by worn rollers. The rubber treads in the rollers wears down, making them smooth, so they won't pick up the paper. Sometimes, they are aged, which also gives them a smoother rounded texture, causing jams. The quick fix is to liven up that roller with a mixture of alcohol and soap. Damp a rag with the solution and wipe the rollers clean with it. That's make them more pliable and the paper jams will cease.

Metal Tab Separation- Pull out your paper tray and examine either end where the paper sits in. If any of the corners are held down by metal tabs, this is your paper feed system. Chances are, you only have one rubber roller or one set of rollers arranged along side of each other. Reach in where the tray goes and feel up. You should feel some rollers. They might be completely round, or they might be shaped like a half moon. Clean whichever part of them you can with the solution, and this should stop your paper jams. It might be necessary to turn them, but don't force them if they don't move freely.

Pickup Roller and Separation Pad-

If your printer uses this paper feed system, you should see a small piece of flat or slightly curved rubber or cork. It would be towards the end of the paper tray, or deep inside the paper loading cavity on top loaders. This 'separation pad' rubs against the paper feed roller, so if you find the pad, you've found the roller. Clean it and your jams should stop.

Three Roller Paper Separation System- Pull your paper tray out, and look for a roller on either end of it. If you find one, clean it. Then look inside the printer where that roller would rest with the paper tray inserted. You'll find another paper roller there. Clean this one also. Finally, look further back or closer to the front of your printer (depending on which way your paper feeds) to find another roller or set of rollers. Clean all of these, and your paper jams will go away

My CLX 3175FN printer continues to have a paper jam. Right now I cannot print any paper size without it jamming. What can I do to correct this problem?

Paper jams

Damp a rag with the solution and wipe the rollers clean with it. That's make them more pliable and the paper jams will cease. If you plan to keep your printer,

Replace the pick-up and feed rollers.

Also:

Start a print from tray 1/manual feed and just as the trailing edge of paper is entering the machine; quickly open it to stop print and take out the cartridge and look at the drum and the paper underneath. If the issue is there at that point then it would point to the cartridge. If not then it is in the fuser area.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Paper jams in heater

Hello

An overheated fuser is one of the most common causes of a paper jam. When large loads of print jobs are pushed through a printer, the fuser slowly starts to warm up. As the fuser warms up, the heat causes the corners of the printer paper to bend. The hotter the fuser gets, the more the paper bends. Eventually the paper bends so much that it causes the paper to get stuck in the fuser, causing a jam.

If you cannot find any other reason for a continuous printer jam, the problem may be the roller. A cracked roller can easily grab a piece of paper and get it caught. A glazed-over or dirty roller can also cause the paper to get caught on the roller and jam the printer. If the roller is cracked or glazed, you may need to call your print technician or replace the roller.

HP Business Ink-jet 1200 1) when it starts printing and the paper feeds it makes an extremely loud clunk sound regardless of the paper tray being used. 2) each and every time the paper comes through it...

The pickup roller is problematic. First clean, then replace if necessary.

The part should be under $20.

To replace (from HP Support):

1. Unplug the power cord from the
printer, and allow the printer to cool.

2. Open the toner cartridge door, and
remove the toner cartridge.

3. Locate the pickup roller.

4. Release the small, white tabs on
each side of the pickup roller by
pushing them away from the roller,
and then rotate the pickup roller
toward the front.

5. Gently pull the pickup roller up and
out.

6. Position the new pickup roller in the
slot of the previous pickup roller.

Note Circular and rectangular pegs on each
side prevent you from incorrectly
positioning the pickup roller.

7. Rotate the top of the new pickup
roller into position until the white
tabs on each side of the roller snap
the roller into place.

8. Reinstall the toner cartridge, and
close the toner cartridge door.

9. Plug the printer in to turn it back on.

Hope this helps.

Does not pick up paper from the tray

How much paper gone throught the printer since it is new?
usually the pickup roller is good for 10,000-15,000 sheets.(20x500 sheet pack). if the printer went throught that much paper, then the pick up roller need to be replaced.
if not, make sure there nothing stucked on the pickup roller, and the roller is not shining (it need to be soft and rough).
