Optoma EP745 Will not turn on

We replaced the lamp, and when we went to switch it back on the projector did not respond.  The manuals simply tells us to call support, who cannot help us.

Same Problem

-   After changing the bulb, the projector wouldn't power up. The problem is the black cut out switch next to the bulb housing (hole is a chair shaped, in which the chrome microswitch arm can be seen.) The under side of the outer cover has a plastic finger that should go into that hole to push the switch to "ON" when the cover is put back in place, but the finger isn't designed properly, so it misses the switch arm and never allows power to get to the projector. The concept is good--keep idiots who didn't pull the plug from touching a live circuit while they change the bulb--too bad the engineers screwed up the design. I fixed it by jambing an "L" shaped piece of 1/4 x 3/8 inch .032 Al into the hole (with one leg diagonally-corner to corner, and one leg flat, on top of the switch cover) to keep the switch ON, then replaced the cover (finger still fits in hole and keeps new piece in place.)-   Mr-Sparks

Got mine to turn on even without the color wheel. The trick is to place the new lamp in and screw down all screws. When replacing the cover besure that the protruding plastic enters on the correct side of the wire switch in side. Tighten the lamp cover screws and do CPR on the center of the cover to ensure the wire switch has moved to the on position below the cover. Plug in the power to see if it works. If not, do CPR with your thumbs on the center of the lamp cover again. Usually this will fix it.
