Top of the door hinge has a collar with holes drilled in it. there is or should be a roll pin in one of the holes which stops against a vertical pin. there is a torque rod in the door and this stop loads up like a spring as the door is opened to push the door closed. the torque rod is made to load up in either direction so they are compatible with left or right swing doors. they make a special tool for turning the collar and getting torque load but you can get it done with a small punch or two or even a couple of allen wrenches that will fit in the collar holes. you have to turn the collar to load up the torque rod and install the roll pin where it will do the most good. DO NOT put too much load on the rod it CAN and WILL break in the door. I usually open the door until I get a 3 or 4 inch gap and make sure it will close on its own from there. It usually only involves moving the collar two or three hole spots from neutral torque. If you cant get any torque or if it starts to load up and slips in the door than the rod is bad or the socket it sits in is stripped out.

Here's something that might help you. Look at the door theres a little hook that grabs the striker on car, hold the door handle "open" and move the hook to the open position try to close the door. That should solve your problem. Hope that helps you.

Rear door won't stay shut

Check the latch mechanism on the door. There is a piece of the latch that closes around the clasp on the door frame. sometimes this closes when the door is open and you can't shut the door. Take a screw driver and flip this latch piece open and close the door.

Remove the center grill of the top grill and shut the power off and back on, the lights should reset

When the lights are working open the Ref door then close the freezer drawer, watching to see if the light in the freezer shuts off. It should shut off when the freezer is about 1" from closing. If it stays on until the door is fully closed then there is a problem with the light switch in the freezer.

Normally when you leave the doors open until the lights shut off, it should reset when both doors are closed

Sub-zero 550 reefridgerator top freezer bottom - refridgerator door not staying closed

Just a guess, but I would check the gasket on the door. They can go bad or get distorted and bunch up and cause the door to bind and not close properly. Also check that the fridge is leveled properly. Will the door close if pushed? Will it stay closed?
