Question about Toshiba REGZA 42 in. Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Fast clicks when I try to turn it on, yellow light comes on and blinks then goes away.
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy.
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience.

SOURCE: Toshiba 42HPX95 wont turn on
I am having the exact same problem with my Toshiba 42HP95. From the information that I have been able to glean from the internet, it looks to be some sort of problem with the power supply or some other component of the power circuit. I am giving up and getting service

The problem is with the signal board. Basically, it is not allowing the power signal to go from the on button from the set or the remote to the TV. I am having the exact same problem with my 42" LCD Regza. Currently, if you are under warranty, Toshiba does not have these in stock. They will not have them available to send until early January. My TV has been at the repair shop since December 4th. I am very upset as I won't be able to watch the bowl games in HD. If your set is still under warranty then call Toshiba help line at 800-575-5469. You will need the model number of yout TV that is listed on the front of the owner's manual. They are:
The first number will be the giveaway as to which model you have. It is the size of your set. They will ask you to try a hard reset. (Hold pwer button down for 5 seconds until you see the yellow light go solid and go off.) This will most likely not work. If it does, you are lucky. I found that if you unplug the TV for an extened period of time, ie overnight, ity may come back on. It will eventually give out completely though. Better to get the problem addressed with the manufacturer. If you are not under warranty then I do not know what to tell you. Right now I am searching the internet to see if I can find this part to maybe purchase myself. Only if it is not too costly. If I find anything I will post here for all. If you have any questions, feel free to email me a firstname.lastname@example.org and I might be able to give you more details on your problem. Good Luck.

I turned the 42HP95 TV off one night and it didn't come back on. Had the red LED flashing etc. Found the solution posted by CheapTech: http://www.fixya.com/support/t101749-tv_turned_itself_off_turn_back but didn't take it seriously because these things never work, others were mocking the answer blah blah. Well, just before kicking the damn thing to the curb, I grabbed a screwdriver, took off the back cover, unplugged the little do-hicky sugested in the Solution, and the idiot box came right back on. Go figure. Been working ever since. SO, you might want to try this before busting out the electrical schematics and dropping $$ on repair. Cheers.

SOURCE: Our Toshiba Regza won't turn on.
Down load this firmware file p/n 2007SEN069 from this address http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/customersupport/model_firmware.asp?model=26hl67. The instructions are here also. Un zip to a blank sd card. I'm not sure if the set will boot to the card or not.
I finally got the tv to boot by constantly plugging in the a/c power and unplugging the power until it filally booted and was able to turn the set on.
Remove the sd slot cover from the lower right rear of the set, and insert the sd card with the unzipped firmware. Monitor the screen and follow instructions. Do not remove the card until the set powers off.
This fixed mine, hope others benefit from this repair.
