How to repair the lower intake flexible hose on the Hoover Agility

hoses are screwed into the end bits by turning in the do up direction
original equipment hoses are normally glued into the end piece but with a bit of determination and a flat bladed screw driver, the glue can be broken and the end removed
fit the good section of the hose into the end and screw it in using an un do direction
if it is the plastic fitting itself that is broken then weld the broken section back together
Basically use a soldering iron and heat the sections until the plastic melts back together
There are u tube pages that show how easy it is to do as they heat weld all sorts of plastic and tips on how to improve the strength of the repair. go google and type in how to weld plastic.

Have a fridgiaire model ffhs2622msu and the ice maker has just stopped working, what could be the problem? Purchased 3mos ago.

Hello Cynthia;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

1.) Frozen Fill Tube - You may have a frozen water fill tube. In the back of your freezer there is a plastic tube that comes out of the back freezer wall. Inspect this tube to insure it is not frozen.

Fix - Back off the two screws on the top. Remove the bottom screw. Lift the ice maker up and pull away from the wall. With a hair dryer defrost the fill tube.

2. ) Ice Jam or Rotating Finger Jam (Broken) - This is common. Feel around on the top for this condition.

3.) Broken Plastic Gears or Burned out Motor. The front white cover just pops off. With a butter knife wedge the white cover off.
25521407-mskwokwzhast4xqc3ipc0uws-3-2.jpg Inspect the center of the gear wheel. If there is no gap then it is broken.

Lets jump start the ice maker. On the lower right there are two holes marked "T" & "H". With a short piece of electrical wire, strip 1/2" off each end. Insert the stripped ends into these holes. Note you nay have to push the freezer door switch in to activate. As the wheel starts to turn wait 5 seconds, then remove the wire.

4.) Burned Control Circuit - This happens. Any electrical component can fail at any time.
25521407-mskwokwzhast4xqc3ipc0uws-3-5.jpg I do not know what you paid for this icemaker, but you can go into eBay and purchase a new one for about $40.00. Part #: 5304445222 Substitution: 241798224

I have a Hans Grohe shower head extension #27479000 that requires a 1/2" male NPT nipple extending 5/8" from the finished wall surface. I found the female pipe thread in the 27479000 is threaded...

NPT and NPS are the same. Screw away! If your female thread is plastic and your male thread is metal, you must be careful not to overtighten as overtightening can crack the plastic on the female thread. Good luck, and don't forget your teflon tape. 4 to 5 wraps is good unless you have heavy duty gas piping teflon, then use less.

No power on

Unplug it from the power outlet and plug it into a wall power point. If no luck, you might have had a power surge and the power supply has broken. To replace it, remove the back plastic cover that leads the paper up, and unscrew the screw that holds the plastic cover on the power side. Open the toner door, remove toner and unscrew the screw that holds the plastic cover on the power side. Now you will be able to remove the plastic cover from the power supply. Next unwire the wire that leads to the fuser and unscrew the 2 screws from the fuser unit that go into power supply. After this you will be able to pull out the power supply and put in a new one doing all the above steps backwards.

My CP510 printer is only printing half the image

My canon cp510 photo printer printed only half of the photo (only the left part if you look to printer whith papercartridge towards you)
I repaired:
Put cp510 upside down
Open box by 4 little screws philips and three bigger. turn upside again and wathc out for little screws
Get off the plastic box, topside, and i found:
(when you have the printer like "normal"i mean with entrance for paper cartridge towards yourselves )
I find from left to right a metal axle of about 5 mm diameter. on right end i found a white plastic thing whcih puts down the printing head/ink foil casette. It was broken arond the axle, it was torn due to pressing so often., I suppose.
Dutch official Canon repair shop said i could not get a spare one as they could not order spare parts, they expected.
Anyway. i reparied it myself with super glue:
To get iron axle free, in order to get broken plastic "pusher" off, I first unscrewed to bigger screws in the metal plate on left side and also the very litltle screw on front side (on/off switch. This all to give space to axle when i want to lift it up on right side.
I got off also bottom plastic house, then you keep iron house , on right corner on front side the metal side is screwed to a metal bar with a very little phillips screw (1,8 mm screwdriver). It is very fixed, so you have to push very well on screwdriver, and i got screw free. then i pulled teh right wall on topside a bit so that i could just get out teh iron axle from that right side wall an lifted it up and pulled off plastic broken/teared part.
With thin paper i cleaned the tear (from any fat/oil form machine) and put some superglue on it, put it back on axle and i had allready some little clamps ready to pressure on plastic part.
Please note the axle is not round at the end, but there is a space to be able to push the plastic part down. So look well that you put plastic part on axle back in some position.
Of course you can make photo's during repair in order not to forget how it was together..
The immediately. put presses or clamps on teh plastic for the necessary pressure (I used little, but strong clothes pins ).
after a day of drying. i put togetehr machine an d it worked again. allraeady 10 photos upto now. hope it will work for several years agian !.
note: afterwards, i read, i schould have used special super glue for plastics.
Have success.

I am having problems getting the screw to screw all the way into the E-Z ANCOR. The plastic E-Z ANCOR screwed in quite easily and is snug up against the dry wall, but the metal screw is not easily screwed...

There are many different models of these drywall anchors, some of which will not allow a too-long screw to be used. But the plastic ones shouldn't have this problem, because the tip (inside the wall) is supposed to split apart. However, you have to drive the screw a bit harder when you get to the point where the plastic starts to split. Do a google image search for---- ez anchor self drilling drywall ---- to see a few useful images.

My daughter has broken the tail off. Can we

Had the same problem and the fix is easy. Hopefully, the tail snapped off at the base of the plastic plate on the tail. If so, go to a hardware store and buy 1 ft. of plastic tubing with 1/4" inner diameter and 3/8" outer. Cut off a piece about 1 1/2". Now, look at the base of the tail and you should see a small screw that holds in what remains of the stub that broke. Unscrew the screw and remove what is left of the stub. KEEP THE SCREW. Now drill a small hole thru the plastic tube about 1/8" from the end. This will later be inserted into the tail and the screw will go through the hole. Next, take a hair dryer and heat the undrilled end of the tube to soften it and push it on to what is left of the broken stub inside the pony. It will be a tight fit which is what you want. The end of the tube with the hole should be just visible. Now slide the tail over the end of the tube and insert the screw. I just did it today and it works good as new! If the tail is too far away from the body of the pony, carefully remove the tube and shorten it. Since you bought a 1 ft. tube, you can have several trys to get it right! Total cost for the tube was 21 cents. Good luck! Kip V. Tryon, NC

Wont turn on

I agree.

It is probably a loose screw (if you shake the iron, you may hear it rattle).. The iron is most likely good, just needs a 5 minute repair.

If you want to do it, or find someone to do it:
1. UNPLUG the iron.
2. remove the 4 screws from the back end of the iron.
3. Open the back plastic plate.
4. There will be a wire with a loose screw; tighten it.
5. There may be a broken wire near the screw; if so, remove the eyelet that is on the screw. put the screw back on and wrap the broken wire end onto the screw and tighten.
6. Replace the back plate.
7. Plug back in and use for a few more years.

Hope this helps!

Repalce Door handle on GE Profile model number SCA1000DBB03

There're some half a dozen or so small screws securing that frame to the door face. These screws must be removed. Then, the frame can be pried out by releasing the plastic snappers (with a flat screwdriver) while in the same time gently helping the frame to detach from these snappers' hold and the door face. It's a tidious, somewhat annoying task. The snappers may and will even likely break in the process, but aren't needed for the frame to be resecured to the door face after the handle is replaced. Note that the broken ends of the handle must be held with a pair of pliers or a flat screwdriver needs to be inserted bewteen each of them and the hole, or the ends will turn with the screws. This is because the metal screws' grip of the plastic handle broken ends is very strong and will otherwise won't get separated.Once the above is accomplished, reassembling the door is a brease.

P.S.: The dual end latch may interfere somewhat with the job and can be removed for the prtocess to be undertaken without it disturbing. It's easy to remove and replace that latch, including its spring.

Microwave handle replacement

How to replace handle on GE Advantium SCA1001DSS.

Remove two screws on top at front in order to remove plastic front vent grill. Then the door lifts off pin hinges. Lay door flat on surface. Plastic trim snaps off with gentle prying (start at bottom middle and bottom hinge side). Then remove six screws holding notched metal section with door latch. This piece will also snap out (several visible clips holding it around edges). Then remove door handle screws, Replace handle and reverse process to put back together.
