did you clean the LINT filter? try vacuuming the lint trap area. wet or damp lint can get built up in the lint trap area. it is good to regularly clean the area as it is a Major fire hazard.

Whirlpool 6 cycle dryer keeps shutting off. it will start back up and run, sometimes it will finish the load and most times it will shut back off in 5 to 20 min.

vent is restricted, disconnect vent tube run dryer. Clean out your restricted vent tube with a leaf blower and make sure it is not kinked or too long, this should help Tim:

My sears dryer will shot off when iy gets hot, going through its cycle. If i let it cool down for about 10 mins. I can restart and continue for another 20 mins before it shuts down again

Take the exhaust vent off the rear and try it.
If it runs OK,repair the vent blockage/restriction.
If it does not run OK,replace the motor.

My dryer stops running after a few minutes. The fuse has been replaced and the repair man replaced the motor and it stills runs for a few minutes then stops. HELP!

Did you clean it out too? Check the venting for clog behind dryer or at the vent cap? Is the house breaker clicking off? Is the dryer motor humming or just stopping? Does it restart every time you try or do you have to let it cool down for a bit to restart? Need more info to be sure. You may have a bad sensor, but you'll need a repairman to check that.

The igniter fires the gas, it burns for a minute or less, then stops and won't restart unless the dryer is stopped and restarted? Is this a coil problem?

Sounds like a clogged vent. If you let it run for a few minutes after it shuts off, it will come back on. Your overtemp. thermostat doesn't allow it to work, because the hot air is not being sucked in. But to answer your question, not the coils for sure in my opinion. When coils fail, it won't turn on after 10 min of running or more. Not right away.

It starts and runs for about 20 - 30 secondds then stops

Pwolf, looks like the problem you?re having is not with the dryer. The vent line is probably clogged up, which caused the dryer to overheat. The hi limit thermostat opens up which shuts off the dryer. After it cools down and closes, you are able to restart the dryer. To make sure this is a vent problem, you can disconnect the vent hose behind the dryer and run it for one load with it disconnected. If it runs fine, then the vent line needs cleaning. Usually it needs special equipment and is very hard to do yourself. It would cost you around $90 to get a professional out to do it for you. If it doesn?t run with the hose disconnected, then you have to provide the complete model number, which is located on the door frame. Gendos....post back.
