SOURCE: E50 what does it mean,

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

E50 in your Electrolux is a motor error and is displayed due to a bad motor or a bad motor capacitor. Check if the motor brushes are ok and also check if the connections to the motor are fine, if everything tests fine including motor then replacing the motor control board is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

SOURCE: Hi. I have a electrolux EDC

Actually E50 is an undefined error. For me it was two things, the start capacitor needed to be changed and after very much work of testing every part of my dryer electronically and mechanically it was clear that the motherboard/controller was the main cause. I tried swapping out the relays and the capacitors on the board that looked suspicious but the error prevailed leading me to conclude that some part of the logic circuit was damaged.
The motherboard part is impossible to buy online it seems. The likely reason is that the same board is used in many dryer types and a certified reseller needs to manually program it for your type. However it "only" cost me roughly $150 and it is moderately easy to swap out (top off, front panel off to get to the screw/s that hold the motherboard box, pull the box to the right and then it's free). It really pays to ask more then one dealer about the price for this part because the highest price I got was >$300 and I couldn't return it if I was wrong about it being the problem (I wasn't).
Hope this helps someone. I don't repair stuff for a living but after learning everything I have in fixing this problem I don't regret spending the time on it. However if you are not interested in electronics or fixin stuff yourself, do yourself a big favor and take the dryer to the shop if you get the infamous E50. At least now you know what the problem likely is and can make it sound like you know what you are doing when talking to the repair man ;)

Electrolux Dryer Model EDC 5330 runs for about 4 seconds only then stops.

New electronic dryers are smart appliances. Your device is probably equipped with a conductimetric sensor that has a function to measure humidity of laundry and in accordance with that increasing or decreasing the drying time. So, it is normaly that appliance stop if you did not put the wet laundry. In the user manual is described as adjusting the level of conductivity (if featured) depending of the water in your area. The conductivity of the water used to wash the fabrics varies from zone to zone.
The conductimetric sensor is calibrated to a standard value: any major variations in the level of conductivity may affect the final drying result (i.e. the washing may be too dry or too humid).

From user manual:

Adjusting the level of conductivity
Water contains, a variable quantity of limestone and mineral salts of which quantities vary according to geographical locations thus varying its conductivity values.
Relevant variations of the conductivity of the water compared to those prefixed by the factory could slightly influence the residual humidity of the laundry at the end of the cycle.
Your dryer allows you to regulate the sensitivity of the drying sensor based on conductivity values of the water by using the following procedure.

Procedure:
Turn the programme selector dial to switch on the appliance
In selection mode press simultaneously the buttons 3 and 6 until «C0» appears on the digits.26037909-0ttppooyw5gnrrhrzk4a545r-4-0.png

Adjusting the level of conductivity:
Press the button 5 sequentially: the level of conductivity is indicated by the lighting of the horizontal hyphens.

26037909-0ttppooyw5gnrrhrzk4a545r-4-3.png Normally, the appliance is factory-set to the highest level; however, certain models may be configured differently.
Memorizing the new setting:
Simultaneously press down the buttons 3 and 6 until the previous drying cycle time appears again on the display and the buzzer sounds.

What e54 error code mean on an electrolux dryer

You have not specified Tumble dryer model so I can not say for certain that my answer is correct. Fault codes can sometimes vary depending on the platforms appliances because today some manufacturers release new models twice a year and thay have the absolutlly right to make changes and improve the efficiency of new appliances (also change fault codes).

E54 - means the motor is inoperational.

Could be:
  • Excessive wash load.
  • Voltage too low.
  • Motor/transmission system inoperative.

Hi Nora King - Error code E70, typically means that there is a communication error with the outlet/inlet control thermistor that has an open or short circuit. Electrolux dryer error code e61

There is a 'tech sheet' in the back pf the dryer. Unplug machine, Remove the access panel on the back to get to it. Reach in and it should be there. It will tell you how to do a button check. You have to enter a test mode through the buttons.
The E 61 is a stuck button.

Enter function test mode and perform key
stuck closed (active). (button) test to determine which button is at
fault. Carefully free the and perform the test
again. If button is free but the key struck code
still exists, replace electronic control.
