Question about ASUS Computers & Internet
I was thinking it was a charger problem but having brought a new one and still not charging I think its the dcin part. I don't know how to find out if it is the problem and what to do about it.
You can check if the dc power jack if loose or not by inserting the charger and try to feel if it loose or not, if yes, probably you need to some replacement.

Call Toshiba immediately. Ask to ship the computer to the depot including the AC adapter, to determine if problem lies on the AC of th DC in jack. M35X has an extended warranty until 11-7-2007.

If the system will not power on, and the LED on the AC adapter goes out when plugged into the system, then the most likely senario is the motherboard has failed. Remove the battery, Wireless card, Drives, RAM and connect the AC adapter see if anything changes. If no change, the MB is most likely bad.

c.Low charging efficiency due to external cause.
a.Test whether the charger has voltage and output electric current or not.
b.Check if the charger is well contacted with battery.
c.Activate the battery with voltage and current 1.5 time higher then the highest ones of battery. (Use this method only when the battery can't be charged.)

I have a total of 5, yes 5 netbooks and a laptop. My experience has taught me that sometimes, it is the charger not the actual netbook/notebook that is the problem. My barely used compaq laptop sat quiet for 2 years.... wouldn't charge..... I assumed it needed repairs more than I could afford. Meanwhile, with 2 of the netbooks, they stopped taking a charge even with the lil led light on. I ordered new chargers for netbooks- PRESTO-- they took a charge. And eventually got a new charger for the expensive paperweight I had too. Now they are all working again. Not an expert by any means, but have had a lot of experience with them. I would rather pay 15 bucks and be wrong, than assume it's something else- have them fix for 80.
