The fact that it blows dirt out when you use it is a simple solution just simply clean the canister out really well and replace the filter it is either ripped warn or you simply do not have one on the unit and as for getting a users manual just go strait to the shop vac website and go from there and you will be able to find what you want and download a manual for free

SOURCE: do you remove the filter when vacuumning water

The cartridge will slide off an internal housing cage which contains the float. Look for a knob, thumb tab or dial at the bottom of the cartridge and rotate bay hand. Always wipe the area where the filter meets the vac body before reinstalling and drain thoroughly before storing.
When full of water you should hear the pitch of the vac motor change.

SOURCE: shop vac 90L400 stopped working won't start

I had the same problem with the same model. Turned out to be the thermal fuse on the motor housing, between the switch and the windings. Took it apart and replaced the melted solder with 14 guage copper wire. Works fine! No thermal protection but I don't use it for long at a time anyway. Check the switch for continuity, if good then check the thermal fuse for continuity. If good, it's the motor.

SOURCE: vacuuming up water with Shop Vac model 84M200

when picking up dry materials use the foam sleeve that slips on and the blue cloth (assuming there all blue) over it, there should be a ring that slides over blue cloth to hold it in place over the foam sleeve, for wet pick up u can use the foam sleeve minus the blue cloth but let it dry out before picking up dry stuff, you can pick up both wet and dry with a cartrige filter that looks simular to a car air filter and it slips over the foam sleeve, but let it dry out after picking up water before picking up dry cause itll just clog it up

How can I mend the sucking power of Dirt devil Highpower 2000 microban model

Most chinese vacs only last a year. That is what they are built to do. Take it to your local vac shop for diagnosis. It may only be clogged and has some life left in it.

Shop vac stopped working

Motors have a thermal safety fuse in the field winding. If it overheats, it will blow and either can be replaced or the whole field winding will have to be replaced. It is wired and is not considered to be a user servicable item.

I dont have a manual for the dirt devil vibe bagless cleaner. It's depositing dirt instead of picking it up. Is there a belt? i don't see one and maybe that's why

Information on your Dirt Devil Vibe Bagless Quick Vac M084500V can be found here:

http://www.dirtdevil.com/products/details.aspx?id=M084500V#parts

A link is available to download the manual as well as for replacement parts.

Yes this model has a belt to run the power brush; the manual has replacement instructions.

If dirst is being left behind it could also be a problem with a blockage, overfilled dirt cotnainer, or problem with the filter.

No you do not need the filter to pick up glass. If you are vacuuming up dust/dirt then use the filter.

Have a Sears shop vac, mod 113.172. The motor doesn't take in

If the motor turns, you should have suction. Put the hose on the exhaust side of the motor if there is a connection, and try to blow it out. If you can't, try using a garden hose or toilet snake to clear the hose. IF the hose is clear, and the problem continues, check the float in the cage below the motor. It should be down at the bottom of the cage. Also, if you haven't been using a bag or foam cover for the cage, it is possible for leaves to clog the motor.

I own a self-propelled Hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum cleaner (Model U6425-920). I do now have an owner's manual and was wondering how to clean the HEPA filter on this model (*this model uses a vacuum cleaner bag also).
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The best way to clean the HEPA filter is to take it outside and use a blower over the trash can and blow off the dust and dirt, or use things like an old paint brush and brush it off, or you can vacuum it off with another canister vacuum or shop vac if you have an extra one. For the best filtration is to replace it, there fore the air flow will catch most of the dust and dirt and then you would have to watch how fast it gets dirty and then do the maintenance.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
