SOURCE: dvd does not load
some times its because of the CD (it cannot read the CD) all you have to do is try a different range of CD's to see what the prob is if it still doesnt read it may be coz of a scratched CD / Lens!!!!

Does the unit emit a groaning sound just before it fails? If so, then the drive spindle is the problem; the sound is caused by the slipping of the disk on the spindle. It could be contaminated with particles (dust, DDV plastic. etc). Look for scratches on the inner ring area of the bottom side of the DVD. those are an indication of foreign material on the spindle. It may be worse with disks that have been used many times. Just touching the hub area with your fingers can leave contaminates. Try first cleaning the disk hub area on the botton side. Stay away from the writable area. The drive spindle can be cleaned by removing the metal top from the unit and then removing the black plastic cover from the drive top (4 screws). Wipe clean the rubber surface on the top side of the spindle. Then replace the covers. As the unit ages, the rubber will get harder and more prone to slipping. A cotton cloth soaked in alcohol may be used to clean and refresh the rubber surface as a last resort. Reply to this message if you want pictures of the process.

It will turn off. When turned again on it is a region free HT.

I pro can probably put it on a dvd for you, the problem is video tapes degrade over time. you may end up paying his labor with little to show for it. check first and see if they offer any type of refund if nothing is worth transfering

You could try cleaning the drive with a dvd cleaner disk and also a can of compressed air to blow into the drawer. It may just be dirty. Good luck! I hope this helps you.
