Modern cars want 80 or 90 sae oil in the box Check the specs in the owners hand book but I run an extreme pressure oil in mine as the gears are under a lot of load especially 5th gear So I use OEP 8o/90 oil . Brand is immaterial

How do I check the level of a manual gearbox on a 2002 Peugeot 607 hdi

you will need to consult a manual, some gear boxes need a measured amount of oil in them and the only way to measure is to drain and measure, others have a filler plug on the side of the box and these type are filled with oil until it starts to trickle back out ,don't over fill

How do i refill gearbox oil

Hi,
We need more information. Type of Vehicle, year, is this manual transmission....etc. That being said, most "gearbox" have two 'bolt type plugs' on them. One to drain fluid out and one to put fluid in. Really need to know more about what you have.

How long will it take for a Nissan Primera gearbox to knock if its put wrong gear box oil

A gearbox will not "knock" in the usual sense, that is said of an engine running on petrol which is a lower octane than it needs. The sound is more of a light rattle or pinging.

If your manual gearbox has had the wrong oil in it for only a week or 2 and has not been thrashed, it is unlikely it has been damaged at all. Just drain and refill with the right grade.

If an auto gearbox, using the wrong oil can cause damage, as it may be far too thick. Drain and refill 2-3 times with the correct grade, running the engine until warm, but not driving around, in between. Then go for a drive without thrashing the car, and see if you can notice anything abnormal.

If you can, take it to an auto trans shop for advice.

What type of oil do one use for manual gearboxes

Use only genuine Honda manual transaxle fluid (MTF)-it is specially formulated for use in Honda transaxles. If Honda MTF is not available, API SG/SJ 10W-30 or 10W-40 motor oil may be used as a temporary lubricant. However, motor oil will cause increased transaxle wear and shifting effort. Refill the transaxle with Honda MTF as soon as possible.

All Mornings I need to Warm-up the engine until the Temp is completly in the middle. , if I drive the card almost does'nt move and spills Transmission oil, When thw engine is warm up runs Ok.

This is the sort of fault that is very difficult to diagnose from a post on here without my dirty hands under the bonnet ,but from the sound of it either you have the wrong oil in the auto gearbox like its been filld with manual gearbox oil or the brake bands and clutch are worn and the particles are in sump going around with the oil clogging up the gauze filter inside the box so drain the oil out and drop the sump of the gearbox then clean the filter and refill with new oil ATF type transmission oil and see what happens ,if it works of sorts but still playing up then trade car in quick

How to check the manual transmission fluid on kia sportage 2001

on the side of the gearbox you will find a square topped plug, unscrew in the normal manner then fill with ep90 until it overflows, wait for it to stop then replace the plug.there is no need to drain/refill,although i would replace oils in gearbox and rear axle at 100k.

Wher is the refill point for a Festiva 1996 manual transmission?

If you look at the transmission, you will find a drain plug on the bottom, look for a similar plug on the side of the transmission, take out plug and if oil is at the bottom of side plug hole, trans is full, if not refill here until oil is running out of hole, reinstall plug.
