I think this is a problem that I can handle, but would like to know the specifics on how to install the oven igniter (part #816625) onto a Whirlpool oven (model #sf385peyw3).

Igniters are pretty easy to change out. Just make sure the power is off and that you do NOT bend the igniter bracket. Also clean the connection with either a green scouring pad or a #2 eraser before connecting.

Just take your time and don't get distracted and you will be fine.

I got the automatic ignition on the stove top wet last night and it will not ignite the gas

I always wipe the area with a paper towel. The I turn on the gas and ignite it with a match or lighter. Let it run for a little while and it should dry out the ignition so that it will light automatically the next time, I hope this helps. You may have to do it two or three times to assure it's completely dry and capable of lighting.

The igniter will come on but no gas, the broiler and stove top both work. I'm and hvac service tech and need some help.

you will either have a weak ignitor or you have a bad safety valve, but before you go buy any thing take the igniter from the broiler and install on the bake and see if works, if works you know it is the igniter, if not it will be the safety valve (fyi you can also turn on oven, then when igniter gets really orange you can tap the safety valve and if it ignites it will be safety valve)

When trying to light oven or grill the clicking of the ignition does not stop! Any ideas? Parkinson cowen chichester thanks

your oven switch is sticking, causing the clicking, if you can open the range top to see that switch, i would pull off the wire to that, until you can have it replaced

Top left burner (propane) does not seem to be receiving gas when trying to ignite it with electrical igniter (control knob). However the burner can be lit with a match when the control knob is turned past...

The igniter usually sparks for all burners on the stove at the same time. Usually a little water or gravy, or such has gotten on the little spike that stick up and throws the spark to the burner. If you will take a small brush, like a tooth brush and carefully clean around the little spike it normally starts sparking again. As it is right now, you should be able to see the spark on all the burners whenever you start any of the burners. Check to see on the one that is not lighting, I think you will find that it is not sparking at all right now.

GE Profile microwave remove top grill

1. Unplug power.
2. Remove two screws holding grille, either on top of the front edge of the outer case or in the grille itself.
3. The grille should lift right out. In not, you may need to pull it to the left about 1/4".

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

Light bulb

If you are comfortable with taking the cover off, Unplug the microwave, usually there are 2 philips screws on the top back, 2 on the right back and 2 on the left back edge cover. Sometimes, their might be a screw on the bottom but you will notice this right away if there are or not if the cover doesnt come off.

Then located the light bulb. You should be able to see the opening from inside the microwave where the light bulb is located.

Once you locate the bulb, then there are usually 2 types, type 1 screws in and the other type is a bayonet type, which you push down, and then twist. You should be able to figure this out.
Sometimes there is a plastic cover that is placed around the bulb to kinda help focus the light towards the inside of the microwave.
Once the bulb is out, then take it to your local hardware store and see if they can match it up. You might want to call first to see if they carry them before driving all over the place.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
