The flash on my canon eos 60d not working

Possibly the spring that raises it is broken, or there is foreign matter in the hinge. Can it be raised manually ?

T3 built in flash won't pop up. Says I have an external flash attached, but I don't.

There is a small flat leaf spring under the hot shoe rail where an eternal flash slides in. If an external flash is mounted the leaf spring is pressed against a small button telling the camera that there is an external flash mounted. Take a toothpick and rub under the hot shoe rail gently to more the leaf spring or unjam the leaf spring. You may even see the button depressed, poke at it a time or two with a toothpick, even a drop of rubbing alcohol may unstick this button if a sticky beverage sprayed on it.

Our 7 year old Kodak digital camera works as good as new. But the flash door will not open. We have a new battery and that has not helped. Can we open the door with out damage to the camera?

Hello Martha, Sounds like the spring mechanism that operates the flash lid has a spring problem, you can manually open the flash but it will not stay in the raised position without the spring unit working,it has nothing to do with the battery,it is an internal mechanical problem.

Norstar phone is automatically sending hook flash (or conference transfer) signal through active calls. Places outside caller on hold and can only reconnect by using feature 71. How can I avoid this?

Could be a sticky button that is programmed for F71
Do F*0 then press all buttons and look at display until you see Link or F71 on the display. Try to un stick that button or erase it via F*1, press that key and press OK instead of entering digits.

or the spring on the grey hook switch is sensitive, this where you hangup the phone. To do a hook flash when no flash/link key you would tap the hook switch very quick to do a hook flash (link).
Send set in for repair in this case.

1) clean the contacts batteries very well with contact cleaners
2) retight the spring contacts batteries with pliers for better contacts.
3) open the remote and clean the KEYpad with c.cleaner from oxide, corrosion, dirty, dust, and proof. The syscom must emit I.R very clean for work.
4) if after you did the before mentioned step, go to the repair shop TV for fix it.

My cats knocked the camera off the counter, and now button that makes the flash pop up doesn't work.....can open it with fingernail, but just flops back there a spring or somethig that might...

Hello, Yes there is a very small spring that raises the unit but requires the camera to be taken apart, not a job for the average person. Best if repaired by camera tech. You can buy a remote flash assembly from E-Bay that has a bracket that mounts to the tripod threads if you wish to go that route,it's a lot cheaper than a camera shop repair.

The pop up flash only pops up part of the way so the pictures are dark. Can this be fixed and how much will it cost. Where can I bring the camera to fix the problem

I had the same problem with my flash not poping all the way up.
I decided there must be a spring that is not pushing the flash up.
Looking for small springs I took apart push button ink pens. The spring that fit the best was from a “Pilot G-2”. It is slightly shorter than most. With a dib of glue on each end I inserted the spring while holding the flash open. Try to use a glue that bonds to metal and plastic. I put the spring in the center of the flash. Repair cost was about $2.50 for the pen, I had some glue.

Almost new camera (es55) but on of button doesnt respond unless you dig your fingernail in hard. If you just press normally it doesnt work

Sound like your spring in your button is not spring back like it should be. It would probably cost more than it would be worth to fix it. Sorry for the sad news. That what they done with digital cameras market. We had ares about three years and we had to get a new one because of the flash sensor went out.

Pop up flash will not stay open when you push the release button.

The post that holds the spring commonly breaks off. The top has to be removed to replace it - a $60 repair by an independent repair shop. I wouldn't recommend removing the top yourself unless you know how to discharge the 300Volt capacitor.
