Question about Cisco 7940 IP Phone
Chances are that your Cisco IP phone itself is the culprit. The ethernet jack for PC Connectivity isn't secured properly. If your phone gets dropped, or even if it was just pulled the wrong way the jack will disconnect from the traces. It's a fairly simple repair, but generally not something that everyone would want to do. If you call IdacomUSA they can repair the jack for you and make sure that you'll always be able to connect a PC in-line with your Cisco IP Phone.
