Question about Apple safari

Connectivity problems after Safari update.

Hi,
I recently updated Safari on my iBook G4 and ever since have had problems connecting to the Internet. Most pages load okay but as soon as I try to navigate away from the page, I get a messge telling me that I am not connected to the Internet. Restarting my modem fixes the problem, but only until I click on something else (a link etc.) The connection wizard is of no help because as soon as I restart the modem the problem is fixed (although very temporarily.) Any help would be gratfully appreciated.
Thanks

If you have another MAC computer available, you can create a USB key to solve this problem:

If not, I'm afraid you will have to turn to an authorized apple service center. They will do the repair for you.

The update has been either the wrong one for your system (apparently you have tried an update designed for a much newer version of OSX than what you have) or the update process was flawed for some reason.
Try to remove the update. If that fails then the only thing left is a complete reinstall - try to save your files wile you still can.

I have emac 10.2.8 with memory 640mb processor 700MHz power pc G4 . I would like to know what safari version is right one for my computer and where can i get that. plz help me.

Hi SardaIn order to upgrade your Safari you need to upgrade your OS to 10.4.11 at least.Try ebay for a copy. Once you have done that Software Update will automatically offer to update Safari to the latest version applicable.
It's not the machine - it's the OS that matters.

Not sure what is going on with safari but what I would suggest is reseating your RAM on your ibook, it may have come loose. to do this have a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-3406L3yL0 it is fairly easy to do. You will at the same time as reseating the RAM you will have to remove the airport card and replace it in the same slot, this may sort the safari problem. Have you tried using another browser such as firefox. Hope this helps in some way.

Connection problems w/ a iBook

You can download updates directly from the Apple website via you're browser. When the update is installed Software Update should work again. Check that you are up to date with any Java updates as this would stop some websites functioning properly.

Apple iBook G4 Track Pad (Mouse) not funtioning

I think the first thing you should do is make all updates. I know that in some versions of the iBook G4, the trackpad does not work after installing OS X 10.4 (Tiger) before you do the updates. Update your OS X first. secondly, does the button work? Does the trackpad show up in the System Preferences menu? (under keyboard and mouse). It's very unlikely that the trackpad came unhooked unless someone has opened up your computer. If they have, there is a really good chance that they didn't plug it back in, because it's a hassle and easy to forget.

Safari keeps crashing

If Safari does not crash when you have no Internet connection. Try this - change the default web page to Google - it may just be a problem with the website that initially loads.
