This service is hard to explain. Try googling it so you watch a video of how it is done. You can purchase belts and rebuild the clutch with the new belts or you can purchase a new clutch with belts already installed

SOURCE: Dyson DC07 drive belt replacement

Hi.

The other end of the drive belt the part you cant see goes to a clutch.
The clutch unit has 2 belts one is clutch to motor the second is clutch to brush roller.
You obviously look after your machine because you say you have had no problems with belts or clutch for 5 years.
Both belts & clutch can be worked on but its alot to explain so look at this site for service manuals.

SOURCE: Clutch Issue

Greetings from GoVacuum,

The clutch repair is not a simple task, but if you watch the video below closely, you can certainly get through it. You'll need to purchase a clutch system (it's best to stay with the genuine Dyson clutch, the generic clutch made is not as good) if you haven't already. You may purchase the clutch mechanism here; Dyson DC-07 Clutch Assembly for Early Models if you don't currently have one.

Here's a great video that walks you through step by step on how to replace the clutch on your Dyson. If you found this repair solution helpful, please be sure to rate the repair as helpful by clicking the 4 Thumbs Up Icons in the top right hand corner of this Repair.

If you have any questions about the repair, I'm always happy to answer your questions. Please send me an email to chris.jones (at) govacuum (dot) com, or just request a clarification through FixYa.

I hope that this helped you,

Brush won't turn on dyson dc07

There was a belt that was to be attached to the motor shaft under the belt cover, be sure that it didn't pop off. the recommended fix is to replace the clutch, not the belts in the clutch. if you only replaced the belts it could still be a bad clutch.

If you need any help feel free to contact me.

How to change a belt on Dyson 07

It very much depends if your model has a clutch or not. If it has a clutch, it is easier with a belt removal tool, if it has no clutch, it can be done with basic tools. There is also a workshop manual for the DC07 available here: Dyson DC07 Workshop Manual

How to change brush belt on dco7 dyson

This depends on whether your DC07 has a brush control clutch or not. For excellent illustrated guidance go to www.dysonmedic.com and click on DC07. For belt change on a model without clutch click on "belt and brushroll". It's simple! For models with a clutch, click on "clutch replacement". It's not so simple!

Hi my dyson dc07 animal has suction but the brush bar wont turn. If I turn it on there is a horrible noise. The belt is still fine

The belt is probably worn or stretched. When this happens the belt won't turn the roller brush when it is against the carpet. Here is a link for the manual and links for the belt you need:

Can the belt in the clutch be replaced or do I have to buy a new clutch and belt assembly?

You don't need to replace the whole clutch, you can replace just the belt. You can get the clutch belt and the brush roll belt combo pack for the DC07 here:

Doesn't rotate roller

Yes, There is a belt on the DC07. If you have the DC07 with the clutch system you need this belt:

If you have the DC07 without a clutch you need this belt:

Broken belt

Hi.

If you cant easily see how to replace the Belt then I think your Dc07 has A clutch unit.

This type of Dc07 has 2 belts one from motor to clutch & the second belt goes clutch to brush roller.

You will need to remove the clutch unit completey from the machine in order to replace the belts, Its alot to explain so try this site it has service manuals covering this.
