Question about Electrolux Eureka Optima 437AZ Lightweight Vacuum

1 Answer

Replacement Parts Recently had to replace the belt on a Eureka Optima 437AZ, all went fine until it was time to reassemble the unit. During reassembly I discovered the last piece was cracked, I do not know the part number or name. It appears to be the piece that controls the head position during storage (vacuum upright) or vacuuming (head down), it looks similar to a fat T. Can you advise part number or name and where I might find a replacement?

Fan wont turn

I have taken one apart. reassembled and the fan would not turn, although there was power to the motor and it wanted to turn.
Sorry this is long...only this is about taking the motor itself apart..and I have yet to find a replacement motor.

1. Tried a little WD 40...(only on iron motor Housing!) nothing.
2. Took apart inside of motor. some rust inside..
3. carefully rubbed clean with WD 40..
4. leaned off WD 40 with contact cleaner...
5. Then worked little bearing loose on back side.
-Kind of turned upon reassembly..
6. Found some silicone High temp lubricant and took motor inside part again.
7. a very thin coat of lubricant inside rotor.
-Re assembled yet again..began to turn at high speed, kept running..24 hrs..
- It .finally turned at silent mode. and continues to work
This may be ar beyond what you want to do, however if all else fails...what else can you do? buy another one?
1. mark rotor holders with housing. (do not reverse.)
2. make sure you remove all lint, dust, etc inside.
3. the rotor bearing I had to work by hand again and again repeatedly syringing a little WD 40 at a time to until it turned easily.

Blueaire 501 dust caked up on wires and fan,how do you take it apart to clean it?

Hi, I have had the same problem and have figured out how to open it.

To open your blueair air purifier, follow the steps below;
1. Get a phillips head screwdriver,
2. Open the unit and remove the air filters.
3. Use the phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that you can see.
4. After taking out the screws, remove the "galvanizedSwedish steel housing"
(cream coloured sides) of the purifier by lifting it upwards (i.e. from bottom to top of unit).
4. You will now have access to the interior of the purifier.
5. You can now take out the fan and clean it, or what ever part you are trying to clean. I used a Dyson HEPA vacuum cleaner.
6. To reassemble, reverse the instructions above to reassemble the purifier.

How do I replace the UV lite and starter/

Unplug unit. Remove rear cover. Remove the rear filter assy. Unscrew (CCW 1/4 turn ) the starter. Release the 2 screws on the ozone unit and slide it out about an inch. Reach toward the front of th machine and you will see the UV bulb. Turn it 90 degrees and it will come up out of the slot. Replace and reassemble and stat it up!

MIDI Ionic Breeze quit working

Unit seems to need reset...To do this simply, with unit still plugged in, set to off by selecting on button until there are no high, med, or low lights on. unplug unit from wall for about 15 seconds then plug back into wall socket and select your favorite setting high, med. or low. The order in which you perform this task must be as stated above and the unit must be clean and the door and cleaning rod must be in home position. Hope this helps, mines working fine now but took a couple tries to find right order to reset.

Unfortunately Sharper Image has discontinued support on the product line.  There was a recall going on with the product but since the company is chapter 11 right now, I don't think it is being honored right now.
What happened was Consumer Reports ran a test on ionizers, Sharper Image received a bad score and filed a lawsuit.  They lost the suit and had to pay all legal bills.
EPA has reported that using ionizers in a house or business may be harmful to your health.  You can read an article about it on their website.
The Consumer Products Safety Commission is going to release a final report on all ionizers by the end of the year.  Their decision may discontinue all sales of any ionizers in the United States.  This industry should have been regulated years ago just by the EPA data alone and for some reason it has been ignored.

Ecoquest Fresh Air Purifier Quit Working

My husband came home and checked out the unit. He discovered that the cord was bad, so he replaced it with one we had. It works fine. The cord plugs into the unit at one end and into the wall at the other end. There was no rewiring needed. Problem solved!

Honeywell F 300 electronic air purifier

there's usually a troubleshooting guide stuck on the inside of the door.  it suggests a systematic flowchart for diagnosing the problem.
you should be able to isolate it to either the power supply (means replacement), or one of the cells.
on mine, one of the many little vanes got a bent during cleaning, and was shorting out.  (it doesn't take much.)  a quick visual and very little judiciously applied force straightened it out and fixed the problem.
i've also found that the unit will crackle a lot after a cleaning because of drops of water remaining in the cells, so i usually reassemble everything, but leave the unit turned off for an hour or two, which lets the blower on the furnace dry the cells for me.

Fan trouble with Flair

remove the retaining screw from the bottom of the unit and slide the insides out the back. use WD40 with the plastic extension tube, spray into the motor armature/stator and turn with your hand until it is free spinning then reassemble and turn on.
this is an ongoing problem with my unit because the air and all contaminents are pulled directly to the fan.
