IT might not have been the bulb, it could be the ballast, it could be the power supply. The other things that it might be are the fan, the temp sensor or a bad bulb.

SOURCE: Replaced lamp and now can't get a picture

Hi Sally Jo, Unit powers on and works properly for a while then shuts off with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Suspect bad lamp part # 915P020010 2. Lamp enable line at J14 pin 6 does not switch to 5 volts after turn on, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 3. At power on the lamp turns on and off three times and then the unit shuts down with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Replace the Light Engine part # 939P977010 4. Check for 12-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 4 on the Engine Driver PCB, if missing check for an open F9A09 on the Power PCB, if it is open replace F9A09 part # 283P127060 and the Light Engine part # 939P977010 5. Lamp enable line at connector J14 pin 6 on the Engine Driver PCB switches to 5 volts after turn on but does not go back to 0-volts (low) after 5 seconds, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 6. Check for 5-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the Engine Driver PCB if missing replace the Power PCB part # 934C148001. Hope this helps!

that means your lamp it is getting to the end of its life.
sometimes even if the lamp still good the TV will send you that message because that timer is closed to 5000 hours

What you can do is open the lamp door, closed again and the tv will ask you if you replaced it the lamp, and just say yes and that sign will go away

Why does my DLP 60 inch Mitsubishi TV keep turning off and flashing a red light?

Your repair tech hinted correct. Although the bad connection will likely be in the power supply, it actualy can sit everywhere the power goes. Can be anordinary plug / connector with a little oxidatin, or a dab soldering point. Or perhaps a electrolitic cap, slowely dying.
Let the tech do his job. He has the tools, education and skills to keep your beloved TV alive.

Hi, if your tv is between 1-4 yrs old and havent replaced the lamp it might be time to do so.Mitsubishis uses Osram lamps to light up the screen and tend to last from 3000-4000 hrs normally 1-3 yrs.The Red light indicator usually indicates its time to replace the lamp.Heres the lamp you would need http://www.discount-merchant.com/Mitsubhishi-915P027010-915P027A10-Replacement-p/mitsubishi-915p027010-lamp.htm?1=1&CartID=0 On the same link it shows you how to replace it ,have a blessed day.

50? Samsung DLP TV Model #HLR-5067W

Did you use an original replacement lamp or an aftermarket replacement? From the price you give, it sounds like an aftermarket lamp, which are notoriously buggy and the problem may be with the lamp. If not, the lamp driver is your next likely culprit. It is also called a lamp power supply or lamp ballast.

Mitsubishi rear projection tv color problem

I'm going to guess that this unit is a DLP projection set and that the lamp is not new. Try a new lamp. The heat of the lamp will char over time. If not the lamp, some of the internal filters in the light engine might be getting effected by heat and require replacement.

Keep us posted.

Mitsubishi DLP 51 inches. Yellow status light is flashing continuously and will not power up at all. Unpluged it for 24 hours buy no difference. What next?

You are Kidding right?

The only thing a flashing yellow light means on a Mitsi is the lamp access door is not installed. Read the manual and you will be fine.
