Question about Canon PIXMA iP90v Printer

1 Answer

Printer will not print.

It won't print. After warming up, the green light alternates with the orange light. But it will not print. I tried turning it off and disconnecting the power cords for a few minutes, then replacing them and plugging them in and turning it on with no different results.

The printer will send a blank sheet through and then stop. So there is not an obstruction to the paper feed. The printer just won't print after the first sheet goes through.

Is the flashing in a sequence like two or three orange to one green, or is there a number of flashes followed by a pause then repeating. The sequence should tell us what the fault is. Andrew

Fixing annoying little issues with these machines is difficult due to the compact design. I would hazard a guess that there is either a paper jam due to a paper fragment or foreign object obstructing the paper feed, or there is a fragment inside obstructing the printhead. To remove the first - turn it upside down and give a few GENTLE whacks on the bum. If anything substantial falls out, try printing. To tackle the second open the cover and let the printhead come to centre (you should take it off battery for this), then check each end of the cavity looking for a black ink soaked peice of paper. If you find one, remove it and go looking again. If neither approach works for you, try carefully feeding a strip of light card at intervals through the paper path, this will help locate anything caught in the feed roller. Good Luck.

My Canon pixma ip 4000 won´t print. The light at the turn on button blinks five times orange and then comes one green blink. I have tried to clean the print head but that didn´t change anything....

this indicates a the print head is not installed correctly or is faulty.

if the green and orange is alternating 5 times then it is caused by the sheet feeder.
