SOURCE: HELP!

Hi taximom, Is the light alternating back and forth between green and orange (GR OR GR OR GR OR GR)? Or is there a pattern like (GR OR OR OR GR OR OR OR GR) or (GR OR OR OR OR OR OR OR OR GR OR OR OR OR OR OR OR OR GR) If it the first case (alternate back and forth) then I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it needs service. (and it's probably not worth fixing) If there is a pattern to the blinking let me know exactly how many times it goes orange and I can tell you what to do from there. The Dude

SOURCE: error code 5010

Yes, same thing happens to me...Error code 5010...and flashing green and orange...alternating lights.

I was trying to photocopy (in basic black, not colour). I had a few pages to copy. I got this 5010 Error code after EACH copy!

I had to turn off the printer after each copy and then turn it back on for the next copy. That's not the worse of it.....once I turned the printer back on and hit copy again...the printer took a VERY long time to scan the item for the next copy. It took me a good 40 minutes to copy 15 pages.
Sooooo irritating!!!!!

Anyone know what to do?

I've also had the paper jam on me tons of times. I am really disappointed with this product. I would not recommend this printer to anyone!

SOURCE: Orange LED blinks 5 times then a 2 second green

If you type in 'flashing power light' in the problem box, for 5 you get print head failure, often it means the connectors between cartridge and print carriage are dirty, can be cleaned with a pencil eraser and a soft cloth. there is a sequence of checks and repairs to follow on the canon service page

Printer will not print.

Fixing annoying little issues with these machines is difficult due to the compact design. I would hazard a guess that there is either a paper jam due to a paper fragment or foreign object obstructing the paper feed, or there is a fragment inside obstructing the printhead. To remove the first - turn it upside down and give a few GENTLE whacks on the bum. If anything substantial falls out, try printing. To tackle the second open the cover and let the printhead come to centre (you should take it off battery for this), then check each end of the cavity looking for a black ink soaked peice of paper. If you find one, remove it and go looking again. If neither approach works for you, try carefully feeding a strip of light card at intervals through the paper path, this will help locate anything caught in the feed roller. Good Luck.
