Question about Creative Labs Creative Technology Zen MP3 Player
Had my Zen in pocket and was listening to it. Put my hand in my pocket and all of a sudden it stopped. Might be coincidence as I do not think I touched the unit. Anyway, I pushed reset and nothing happened. Thought maybe I had drained the battery. Plugged in the recharger. Light came on the recharger but nothing from the unit. After a few hours, the Zen was warm to the touch but nothing happened when I pushed the power button. Tried resetting again but nothing. Plugged it into the computer. Does not seem to be turned on but the computer recognizes the player and I was able to copy the files I had onto my hard drive. Almost as if a "light bulb" burned out. Any ideas? Thank you.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I had the same problem. Tried recharging from both PC and mains recharger. Tried re-setting and re-charging. All I got was the blue charging light pulsing on and off. The ZEN would not charge. Eventually I tried a Software re-set. (Slide the on/off button to the On position and hold it there whilst hitting the re-set button). I then tried re-charging and everything was fine. (It did take about 10 - 15 mins recharing from the PC before the device did actually respond, but that is normal after it is fully discharged)
Cannot guarantee the above will work every time or for everyone, but it saved me returning it to Creative and an eight week wait.

SOURCE: my zen doesn't start or recharge
May want to check the connectior that is on the unit make sure this has not came loose from the pcb inside if it has a light solder job will not hurt to get this thing to come back to life.

Mine did exactly the same and i thought it was dead, but when u are reseting it keep it plugged into the computer while reseting it and it should turn on. It worked for mines anyway.
