Question about HP Color LaserJet CP4005dn Network Printer

Alignment off on HP CP4005dn Color Printer

All of a sudden we are having an alignment issue with our color printer. I found the problem is in our cyan cartridge area by disabling the cyan cartridge and printing a diagnostics page. every thing is aligned. When I replaced the cyan cartridge and did a full calibration we are still having no luck fixing the alignment. Please help!

Place a soft clean tissue paper over the cartridge print head and leave for about eight minutes. You can secure it with the aid of a rubber band. It should be held firm ok. If the tissue paper is not dampened by ink then the cartridge would have gone bad or the ink dried. You also know that they have expiry date and could go bad while yet in the packaging b/c it has expired. Good luck

Canon mg 3550 alignment problem?


Dear sir

I have encountered this problem on other printers. Try to clean the ribbon sensor found just above the head. It is a plastic digitizer strip used to align the head movement. Usually it has some grease on it just clean it with some cloth very gently.

Alignment failed when run


If Printer heads health condition is not good, alignment wont completes..
Four individual cartridges & Two print heads, each print head prints two colors.. Black& Yellow, Cyan & Magenta.. Verify which color is not printing properly(Color missing Or white bands)..
Perform 2 or 3 times print head cleaning through printer menu..Try for alignment.. If success end.. if no, replace the print head which is not printing properly.. Before replacing the printer head ensure that cartridge ink should be above 30%...

I have a hp cp4005dn on a network. The prints have color repeating dotts . I have change the toner cartidges and transfer belt. I still have issues.


Calibrate the printer after replacing the ETB.

Full Calibrate Now
Use the following procedure to calibrate the printer whenever you replace the DC controller, the ETB,
the drum drive motors, the drum drive gears, or a laser/scanner. Full Calibrate Now includes theQuick Calibrate routines and adds Drum Phase Calibration and Color Plane Registration. Full
Calibrate lasts for about four minutes.
1. Press Menu to enter the MENUS.
2. Press to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE.
3. Press to select CONFIGURE DEVICE.
4. Press to highlight PRINT QUALITY.
5. Press to select PRINT QUALITY.
6. Press to highlight FULL CALIBRATE NOW.
7. Press to select FULL CALIBRATE NOW. Wait for the printer to calibrate.

hello, machine will need to finish calibration so it will not come back, so if machine failes it could be that the color cartridge is not printing, because this machine uses yellow to calibrate with.

Hp photosmart c5280 all-in-one printer........the color ink cartridge will not allign


I had a similar issue, I called HP Support and they had me change out the ink, re-run the alignment, restart, change out the paper, run the alignment again. They had me try everything you could imagine. But, in the end; there was absolutely nothing that would fix it. They said that pulling paper jams from the printer among other things (if not done properly) can permanently damage the print head to where the alignment can no longer correct it. Luckily, while it took forever, the printer was under warranty...I had to do a warranty repair, but the new printer had no issues.

C6180 failed alignment test, will not print color properly


All colors need to be present to pass alignment. Usually what I see is the yellow is empty. You can blot the print cartridge on a damp paper towel to verify the inks are working and this also cleans the head.

When I change the black ink cartridge, the alignment page and instruction page are printing out fine. When I place the alignment page on the glass as instructed and press 'ENTER', the printer gives a...


I just had the same issue (align page not detected).

We had just re-installed the empty color cartridge back into the printer (long story but basically we knew we could only print B/W).

The align page printout had a lot of empty spaces around the black lines. This is apparently where the color lines are supposed to print.

Without those color lines, the printer would not detect the align page as color is part of the alignment being done.

Since we only wanted black printouts, I pressed 'cancel' to stop the alignment process, and now we just hit the Black copy button and ignore the alignment prompt on the printer window.

The HP site (enter psc750 in product window) has some helpful ideas as to what the problem might also be. It could be the shipping tape is still on the new cartridge (and preventing the black or color from printing on the align sheets) etc.

Cannot align print cartidge on HP PSC 1315


i have the same problem. i think mine centers around the fact that i refuse to spend the money to buy a color cartridge. i believe the alignment sheet must be in full color.
