Where is the air filter on Carrier 50SS-030-301?

the unit does not come with filtration from the factory. there should have been a filter access installed in the return air duct work. this is the duct connection on the back left of the unit, if it is side discharge. look for a metal patch of some type near the back of the unit or you may need to check this duct inside the building

Overheating gage when stop & go -2004 chevy tahoe

natural for engine temp to rise in Traffic - Until Themostat opens ) cooling fan sensor kicks on fan . But Antifreeze is not just a Cold weather item . Coolant is Absolutely Necessary for Hot Days . You must be full to recovery bottle setting of cold when checked prior to start up . Coolant for your make / model is Reddish - Pink colour and should have a reading of -25 thats negative 25 degrees the Lower the Better even - 50 .. Why ?? - 50 is 50 %% antifreeze / Coolant Concentrate MIX Gives Hot weather cooling Ability or very cold weather starting / winter HEAT .

The condensing unit is more than 75 feet from the evaperator. In the very hot weather the unit will not cool. Is there a line size increase recommended for this distance?

No. 75' of distance between condenser coil and evaporator coil is not considered abnormal at all. I would look elsewhere for reasons your unit does not cool in very hot weather, i.e., dirty condenser, low charge, improper sizing of AC and cooling space to name just a few.

Carrier Model # 50SS-030-301 Serial #: 2594G41362 Refigeration # 22 - 3.5 lbs 1.5kg does not have sufficient air flaw is that normal? Freon # 22 has the right amount of GAS FREON 3.5lbs I found out...

If any part of the coil is freezing then there is a restriction inside the line and the unit needs to be recovered and vacuumed and recharged to proper level

Unit shuts off on hot days

It may be low on refrigerant. On hotter days, the compressor has to run longer to reach the temperature you have on your thermostat. Have it checked for the proper refrigerant charge and have them test how many amps that the compressor is pulluig as well. With the proper breaker installed, the unit should not be tripping out. Make sure that the breaker that is in there now is actually the proper one for your unit.

The air conditioner is either low on freon: The compressor is malfunctioning due to a wire burned off on the side of side compressor:Or the compressor capacitor has gone bad. Good Luck, Gary
