Protection mode is kicking in, maybe thermal or relay issue. See a tech.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Onkyo 5010 amp. Blue light went out in front and sound stop coming out. I clicked the power button and a click occurs inside the unit like its powering up but still no light or sound coming from amp.

This is either you have something loose as in a connection at the back, or the output transistors/IC are open circuit.

Standyby light on, recienver won't turn on

Hi Jerry, I would suggest that you unplug the unit from the AC outlet for at least and hour then plug it back in and see if it will power on. If it does not the unit would require service, you can located an authorized service center at the following link, http://www.onkyousa.com/Support/servicecenterLocator.php?source=globalnav.

If you would like to see if your unit qualifies for a trade in please email me the units serial number to askonkyo@us.Onkyo.com, Thanks, JT

Receiver turns off when you turn the volume up past 24

You should unplug the unit, contact onkyo to see if they can help. Sometimes it will cost more to have the unit fixed than to buy new.

No video outout

Since it's under warranty there's not a lot you can do. Otherwise if you go inside you will void the warranty.
Tell Onkyo it's faulty, fix it or I want my money back!!

Onkyo tx-ds656 stand by power light comes on volume control knob rotates to max but display or unit wont start

Try factory reset: while holding the(CD) button on front panel, press (POWER) button.
After "Clear" is displayed the unit should be back to its factory default. :) If this dont work for you take the unit to be checked by service . :)

I have an Onkyo HT-S6100 home theater not sending picture to TV.

I just fixed mine with the same problem. Apparently, the HT-R667 and 606 receiver that comes with 6100 has a problem with the HDMI board. Onkyo wanted $500 dollars to fix it, costed me $16. Here's how to fix it. http://www.highdefforum.com/high-definition-receivers-recorders-players-tivos/121956-repairing-onkyo-htr667-aka-606-a.html

Onkyo TX-DS777 goes straight to protection mode

Hello. You have shorted audio outputs. One of your channels has shorted output transistors. If your unit uses output ICs then one of them is shorted. Both types ( individual transistors or ICs ) are located on the large finned heat sink. The parts are available from http:\\www.tritronicsinc.com. good luck
