I cannot down load from a flash says Anika 0%after it saying update in progress. Regards Jeremy..

Hello Jeremy,

Flash drives are notorious for experiencing read/write problems. I suggest you try and repair the drive. I assume you are using a Windows PC or device.

To do so, plug in the drive, open up COMPUTER, right-click on the drive and click PROPERTIES. Look for the tab that says TOOLS at the top, then click SCAN FOR ERRORS.

Good luck!

My pen drive unable to show my data on it & aiso not detect in any pc or laptops. What can i do?

If the flash drive is not detected, it means there is damage to hardware.

Flassh drive hardware malfunction, there are two types
1. Cracked solder.
Solution: Open the flash drive casings, heat the tin solder.

2. Resistor (R) broken
Solution: Open the casing flash drive, flash drive instead of resistors.

Hopefully this information helps

I place my attache 1g drive into the computer. It not reading. I think I have lost all my information save on my flash. Is there a way to retrieve the information

Try it in another computer. If the flash drive has failed there is no way to recover it without the use of expensive software. You can hire the services of a data recovery company to do it. That is why it is important to back up. Could be a windows issue if it works in another pc. Plug it in and open your device manager and see if it is listed under storage. If it is, delete it. Remove the flash drive and plug it back in, windows should detect it again.

Micro sd 2gb card, not read.

Sometimes when a flash memory stick fails because it was not removed from the USB port properly. If the device is removed by just pulling it out of the USB port, it can cause the flash device to fail, you must click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Task Bar and select the device you wish to remove and only do so when instructed to do so.

When the flash memory device appears to malfunction it maybe possible to restore it by reformatting it. Insert the flash drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Healthy.

You need to format the external drive. Format the drive as primary drive and in FAT32. (FAT32 will allow data to be exchanged between MACs and PCs).
Insert the external hard drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Health.

This can occur if the pen drive was inserted into a HUB rather than direct into a proper usb 2.0 port on the compuer.

It can also happen if the dmive has been mistreated in any way.

You may want to try re-format it from the computer mangement console
rather than my computer or windows explorer

Sandisk Cruzer Professional 4GB usb flash drive issue

If you pull out the flash disk while it's working, you can damage its bootrecord. In this case Windows tells you that flash drive is not formatted because cannot read the from master boot record or FAT (file allocation table)
You can scan your flash drive attempting to repair boot record or use a flashdisk recovery tool if you have importanta data in it.
If not you can format your flash drive.

I have a usb flash drive with data on it and now the flash drive can't be read. The light on it flashes but it will not open.

Sounds like the Flash drive has corrupted data. I can't find any free software that can help you repair corrupted USB drives, but VirtualLab DataRecovery is rated pretty highly, I would download the trial and see if it works for you.

As a note, Flash memory does "wear out" over time, and it will eventually be unable to write/read any data. So it's important to never keep all your critical documents on a Flash drive. It's only meant for temporary transportation of data.
