Question about Kenmore 67032 Dryer

1 Answer

Clothes won't dry

I had the vent system cleaned out thinking this was the problem but the person who cleaned it out told me that it was actually the blower that was not working. I have had several problems with the dryer since purchased. Can the blower be replaced without having a service tech doing it

It may be as simple as checking your lint filter.
If you use fabric softeners sheets, they tend to clog the lint filter holes. Washing it with soap and water will restore it back to normal and will allow the circulation that the dryer needs to properly dry your clothes.

Gas lights up for about 5 minutes and then burns out. Try to turn on dryer again, but flame won't light. I let dryer sit for aout 30 minutes and turn on again - flame starts up, but will only last...

If the flame is shutting of before it reaches the operating temperatures the likely failure is a restricted venting system. There is a high limit thermostat that will cause the flame to shut off if there is a lack of airflow due to a restriction in the vent system. Remove the lint filter screen and clean in with soap and water. The filter may appear clean but it could have a clear film of fabric softener residue covering it causing a restriction in the air flow too. After cleaning the filter reinstall it before running the next test.

For testing purposes only, disconnect the dryer vent hose from the back of the dryer and put a normal load of clothes in the dryer and start the dryer. If the clothes dry in the normal amount of time that would confirm a restriction in the vent hose or the venting system. NOTE: Do not leave the vent hose disconnected after running the test. Reconnect the vent hose.

You will likely find the clothes drying in the normal amount of time indicating a restriction in the venting.

Estate dryer do's not dry fast anymoe

Couple of things to check, the blower fan assembly that is close to the lint filter, might be clogged or the exhaust duct hose might be too long and has too many bents, that restricts the air flow. check also outside for restrictions

Relatively new dryer takes several cycles to dry normal loads

Check the lint trap all the way down to vent, then make sure that the vent is not crushed in anyway. Depending on the way the person cleaned it they could have actually caused more of a clog

Does not heat

"Steam drying will get how but the air that comes later to actually dry is cold so the clothes never dry"

I am assuming "how" means hot in this sentence, if so, I think I can help! There is no "steam drying" phase for your dryer so what is probably happening is; the wet clothes are being heated properly [as a result causing steam] however if this steam does not escape frum the dryer it will simply condense back onto the clothing [leaving them moist/wet].
Check your flexible tube from the dryer and the vent on the outside of your home to make sure they are unobstructed. Hope this helps!

My clothes are not drying fast enough

Hello. I was the last person to post with problems with the Miele T1403 Electric dryer. Just wanted everyone to know I solved my problem and this could solve yours as well. To reiterate I too was frustrated with clothes that would not dry. I could feel heat but the vent/filter light would keep beeping and evetually turn off my dryer. The result would be damp clothes especially towels!! I had a certified Miele dealer come in and check out the machine. This was after I completely cleaned out the lint trap the inside of the machine, and the duct connecting it to the wall. Well they looked at everything and determined nothing was wrong with dryer and I had done a great job cleaning it. Armed with this info I was referred to a company that specializes in cleaning the entire interior duct system of the dryer(Not just the lint trap, inside of machine, and connector tubing). They came today and disconnected the machine again went into the attic and used a shopvac type of machine to really clean the entire duct system. Not rocket science but viola problem solved!! You could probably do this yourself if you have a shopvac with a long attachment (depending on how many bends your system has). The machine is working great and now I know to clean the system at least once or twice a year. I was told that slow drying clothes, extra moisture, machines that are very hot to the touch, etc. can all be symptoms of a blocked vent. By the way a blockage can be a fire hazard. This solution is a lot cheaper than a service call or worse getting a new dryer. I wouldn't listen to the hype about European dryers like Miele or Bosch not drying clothes all the way-could just be a blockage. These brands are very good at shutting themselves off when they get hot (which is a good thing).
