Question about Uniden Guardian Wireless Video Surveillance System
After a few days I get "Record File Error" and have to reformat and reboot the system to regain operations. How can I fix this. Do I need to return the system?
I was getting the same trouble with the "record file error" always showing up on my monitor as well, and no recordings were being written into the SD card. I tried different SD cards and the same message was appearing. I was about to pack it up and return it to the store until I did one last thing...and it worked for me! Solution: Using a paper clip, insert the end of it into the "reset" hole under the SD slot and the system will turn off, restart, and voila!...it will start recording again. I hope this helps everyone who has this similar problem out there. I guess the unit just need a good reboot and get some of the bugs out of it's system.

I Had same problem, if reboot doesn't work, i found that the issue is when you delete the memory card. for some reason it messes up the memory card making it unusable elsewhere. my solution is simple every time its full i would place it on my computer and delete the files there. or you will need to buy a new memory card every time you get the error code.

I am having the same trouble, the last thing that it has started doing is recording all of the different days under one days folder. So it will record about 3 days fine then say on the 29th you can go into the menu and find months worth of footage. Doesn't sort itself either unless you reboot. I was going to try a different memory card but im not sure what to do. I think leaving the monitor off all the time or on all the time might help as it might be an issue caused by turning itself on and off sleep mode? Either way its not doing its intended purpose out the box and was a waste of time and money for me to buy and install it.

I have formatted the SD card and restarted the system. It just comes back all the time. Uniden have a good rep - but a lot of their products lately are just faulty... time to down grade this company :-(
