SOURCE: Can I set the default input?
some tv model has a setting that every time you switch on the tv the set will back on the last customer setting, other tv does not support this setting. But if your tv works as i mentioned earlier during the first time you buy it. Meaning the IC memory is malfuntion.

Not an expert on this model but generally if you switch the TV on by pressing the remote's power button it will come back using the input you previously used. If you press a channel button it will come back to DTV.

I have the exact same problem/symptom. I suspect this is a very common problem only folks just now discovering it as we buy new hdmi devices. I called technical support and got the "sorry, out of warranty" talk. Mr Badge #74754 claimed that this was not a known problem. Would love to hear if others having this problem.
When you use SIMPLINK function, you have to
connect to the OPTICAL IN 1 jack to enjoy TV
sound to your speaker system.
Basically you need to have the Audio go from TV to receiver and setup receiver to that Input to output surround sound to all speakers.
If you have a cable box or satellite receiver, hook that output into the receivers input and that should work.
My setup is DirectTv HDMI output goes into the LG Home Theater HDMI Input 1, and LG goes HDMI output into the TV HDMI input 1.
so to watch DirectTV, I switch LG Home theater to HDMI Input 1. and TV is on HDMI input 1 (to view LG HDMI output from DriectTV, Blu-Ray, Vudu, etc.)
