you would need a HDMI cable I purchased a 25 foot cable at amazon.com for $20 they are about 85 at walmart for a 15 foot cable of course you nee a hdmi output on your laptop and a hdmi input on your tv they should have them if they are fairly new. hook up cable, select correct source on tv, mine is hdmi 4 .go to your laptop right click on background select properties from menuset up tv like it is a second monitor for your laptop. enjoy
There is a button on your remote control to change the input method. You press the button to change it. Examples of input choices are AUX, Antenna 1 & 2, cable, tv, hdmi. Keep pressing the input button until you see a picture or find the HDMI choice. That should solve your problem.
Not an expert on this model but generally if you switch the TV on by pressing the remote's power button it will come back using the input you previously used. If you press a channel button it will come back to DTV.
